This is a nice place to go with fresh seafood. They usually offer a set lunch for EUR 8,-- (without salad or beverage); try to avoid the "Thai Nudeln" or thai noodles which have as much to do with Thailand as Bratwurst does, you will be disappointed (aside that it was an o.k. very filling dish, although a bit expensive, I had to pay EUR 12 for a bowl of noodles with 4 shrimp). It was well stocked with German white wine and different types of beer. A nice place for a bite to eat if you are near the Markthalle in Hanover. The food and optics are typical for Gosch, with a wide range of fish and seafood options. The seating is modern and doesn't lend itself to long relaxed visits, but it's fine for lunch. The service is friendly and efficient but had the standard Gosch system of having to order food and drinks separately, so if it's busy you have to queue twice. There is no table service. The fish was good - both well-prepared and well-presented, and the price was totally ok for the quality. Well...

Gosch ist beides, Systemgastronomie und Hipp. Mit dem Umzug (weg vom Bahnhof) hin zur Markthalle, dem „Bauch von Hannover“, gilt dies doppelt. Der Standort in Hannover ist sicherlich einer der schönsten bundesweit. Er verfügt auch über einen großen Außenbereich, der im Winter für die Raucher passt, im Sommer eine gute Alternative zum hektischen Innenbereichen darstellt.

Systemgastronomie merkt man u.a. Daran, dass man sich sein Essen und die Getränke an den Tresen selber bestellt, bezahlt und abholt. (Kleiner Tipp für Plastikzahler: bestellt Essen und Getränke am Essenstresen und bezahlt dort alles zusammen. Man bekommt einen kompletten Beleg und erspart sich eine weitere Zahlung am Nachbartresen). Ebenfalls wird seit der Eröffnung systematisch an der Preisschraube gedreht, was bisher an den Besucherzahlen spurlos vorbei geht. So sind beispielsweise Weißweine zur Eröffnung noch ab 3,50 EUR das Glas verkauft worden, heute liegt der Preis bei rund 7,00 EUR.

Dennoch ist Gosch in Hannover sehr beliebt und das liegt sicherlich auch an der Qualität der Speisen. Beliebt sind die Thai Nudeln und natürlich alles, was mit Fisch zu tun hat.

Meine aktueller Tipp: Der Thunfisch im Sesam-mantel auf Rucola-Parmesan-Salat mit Brot ist mit 24,50 Euro nicht gerade günstig, aber jeden Cent wert.

Die beliebten Thai Nudeln reichen (mir) meist in der kleiner Portion, die auch gut „zum mitnehmen“ geeignet sind, kalt oder warm.

Mein Tipp bei den Weinen: Der Lugana. Ideal als Aperitifwein oder zum Fisch.

Gosch veranstaltet zudem zahlreiche Events und Fußball wird sowohl drinnen als auch draußen übertragen.
