Taste of India Idstein — Restaurant in Idstein

Yesterday i had a lovely dinner for 3 people at this restaurant. We were enticed for having an indian meal after watching The Hunded Foot Journey and boy, we were in for a treat!

On a slightly low side, the service was a bit ehm confused and slow although it was quite busy and by no means unfixable and please, do not be put off by this because the food is really exquisite and totally worth it, everything was top class.

We shared a starter of garlic bread which was freshly cooked and in fact took a while to prepare, then 3 main dishes, a chicken mango, chicken butter and the classic chicken tikka masala (all served with perfectly cooked basmati rice). Everything was excellent, portions had a perfect size served in small copper pots which maintained the heat throughout.

They also adjusted the spiciness to our desired level, flavours were so well mixed this is probably one of the best indian restaurants i have ever had in my life and you could tell the chef was indian by the way every spice and ingredient was blended together to bring together an harmony of flavours you just cannot stop eating.

To top it off we asked for some liquor and they had in store mango liquor which was also delicious to conclude this very pleasant dinner.

Update: Ordered delivery from them again and the food is just ridiculously good🤤🤤. I can vouch for the non-vegetarian thali, the chicken biryani and grilled platter. Food was delivered hot despite me being about 25 minutes away, it was well seasoned and sooo delicious,

Chicken Korma is one of my go to dishes and theirs is one of the best I’ve had. Definitely the best in the area. Loved the accompanying sauces and the mango lassi is soo good. Will definitely be ordering...

So, so, so. Vorab möchte ich klären, dass ich nicht in dem Restaurant selbst war, sondern es mir habe liefern lassen und es war durchaus binnen 20 min hier (äußerst lobenswert) und der Lieferant war ebenfalls sehr nett. Kommen wir zum Inhalt. Obwohl ich kein Fan von indischem Essen bin, muss ich doch sagen, dass es für ein entspanntes freitagliches Abendessen durchaus seinen Zweck erfüllte. Ich bin noch gar nicht richtig fertig und doch schon pappsatt. Zu meiner Bestellung gehörten Butter Chicken und Paneer Pakora (angeblich panierter Käse, doch er schmeckt nach nichts oder anders formuliert: nach paniertem Wasser) bei einem Preis von 23€. Dennoch spreche ich ein Lob an die Küche für das Butter Chicken aus, da es, trotz zu wenig Hühnchen, wie ich finde, geschmacklich geradezu hervorragend ist. So auch die wundervoll vollmundige Soße, in der ebenjenes famose Hühnchen eingelassen ist. Auch die Konsistenz vom Reis ist äußerst gut gelungen. Die beiden Soßen, die dazu geliefert wurden, sind jedoch eine Beleidigung für das restliche Gericht (was ich damit meine, werden sie schon verstehen). Da das Essen im Großen und Ganzen also doch recht schmackofastig war, gebe ich diesem auch drei Sterne. Jeglicher Service, den ich hier berücksichtigen kann, ist die Lieferung und da diese überpünktlich und nett war, bekommt sie vier. So kommen wir auf 3,5 und somit insgesamt auf vier Sterne.
