UPDATE 27.06.25: This getting ridiculous. This horrible restaurant has yet AGAIN asked Google to remove my negative rating about them for the 2nd time. (They also did the same to my husband's 1-Star review of this restaurant.)

To all the customers, who had a negative experience in this restaurant and posted an honest review of their experiences here on Google, please do not let this restaurant intimidate you. This is a DISGUSTING and FRAUDULENT way of doing business and this kind of behavior should be CALLED OUT!

To the management of Chai Roti: FOCUS ON IMPROVING YOUR SERVICE INSTEAD OF RUNNING TO GOOGLE TO HAVE NEGATIVE RATINGS ABOUT YOUR RESTAURANT REMOVED! Clearly, your current 4.7 rating here is NOT REFLECTIVE of your ACTUAL, LEGITIMATE rating! Shame on you!

UPDATE 20.12.23: Now this restaurant is challenging my review to get rid of negative reviews? Instead of striving to improve their food and service, or at least trying to address the concerns of their customers, they resort to complaining to Google to have negative reviews removed? That’s a shady way of conducting business!

NOT RECOMMENDING THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE.

I would have given this restaurant a 1-star rating, had it not been for the senior waitress, who salvaged the rest of our evening. The bar keeper, for one, was quite rude and unprofessional. Instead of trying to resolve the concern of my partner’s friend, he went on to jut defend himself and had a very condescending tone. It’s a good thing that the senior waitress was there and took over to make sure that everything was in order after that. Another concern of mine and my partner was the food - it was very bland. This is an Indian restaurant and one would expect the food to be flavorful. However, that was not the case. I don’t think I’ll be coming...

I am very mindful of the fact that it’s not easy to run a business, and it’s very easy to criticize. My only aim here is to help the business with my feedback. So I will start with the positives: the decor & service! Friendly, clean and grand atmosphere. If only the food matched the ambience! I hope they were just having a bad night, and the food we got is not the usual fare. Being great street food fans we ordered most of the street food on the menu: Palak Chaat: they added potato chips on top for crunchiness, need I say more! Gobi Manchurian, just enough to taste with such a tiny portion. Pav Bhaji…Bhaji was ok but with burger bun as Pav you get from probably from Rewe, 16€ really caused me a heartburn! And in the end we ordered chai and realized there was no turning back. My humble request to all Indian restaurants, if you charge 3,90€ for hot cup of Indian chai, and serve stale chai from few hours ago, we can tell the difference! It’s these small things that sets apart a great restaurant, the one want to visit again and again and the one you never want to. Pav bhaji was awesome !! real taste of Mumbai , India . Honestly I havn't tried all foods yet as this is a quite new restaurant. Being an Indian , staying after 7 months in Ingolstadt and after trying different Indian restaurants in the city. I can say Chai Roti one of the best restaurants we have in Ingolstadt. I hope they will keep the Food taste as it is...

Another Visit Review : I have been this restaurant many time mean while . May be 7th or 8th time . I ordered chicken curry and rice . Everything taste wise was good. Just one small issue was, chicken pieces were little hard than usual . I felt its okay and managed it . The hotel people came just to check if everything was okay or not . I only said not as a complain that the chicken pieces can be little softer . Immediately they replaced the complete food which was almost finished .When I couldn't finished the the new chicken and rice plate ( was just perfect) , they packed the remaining food for home. This is kind of awesome food with some super service is very rare .

These people honestly deserve 5 Star ... Keep it up . Thank you...
