I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taj Mahal Restaurant in Ingolstadt, and I was thoroughly impressed. As an Indian food enthusiast, I was craving a taste of home, and Taj Mahal did not disappoint.
The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Paneer Kadai, which came with a generous portion of basmati rice. The paneer was cooked to perfection, and the curry was flavorful and spicy, just as I had requested. The roti was also perfectly cooked, soft and flaky.
The staff at Taj Mahal was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were attentive to my needs and took good care of me. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, with warm lighting and traditional Indian décor.
The prices at Taj Mahal are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. I was able to enjoy a full meal with a drink for under €20.
Taj Mahal has a wide variety of Indian dishes on the menu, so there is something for everyone. I was particularly impressed with the selection of vegetarian options.

The restaurant is conveniently located within walking distance of the Ingolstadt ZOB and Rauthplaze bus stops.
I have now visited Taj Mahal twice, and each time I have been impressed with their food, service, and ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience in Ingolstadt.
I will definitely be visiting Taj...
Read moreI travel a lot and I have been to India quite often. It is very hard to find authentic Indian cuisine outside of India (except for places like Durban, England, British Columbia...). Most places „germanize“ their food that it tastes just like cream/ butter without the typical Indian flavors and spices. Indian food means an explosion in your mouth...spicy meets sweet and hot, and sour and so on at the same time within one spoon of something. I told the friendly waiter that I have high expectations and that I would like to have the authentic level of chili/ herbs/ spices. They nailed it! I tried two other Indian Restaurants in Ingolstadt and I chose the exact same dish to be able to compare: Paneer Makhani. My wife took the Jhinga Masala with Prawns and loved it as well. The Garlic Naan Bread and the Raita were perfect side dishes and we got a Chai for free after dinner. Thank you, we will definitely come back! Best Indian Restaurant in...

Ordered Taj Mahal Teller among a few other dishes. Despite it being a Tandoori ( traditionally dry) dish, with even the description on the website being "Gebratenes Hühnerbrust- und Lammfilet mit frischem Gemüse" , I got this gravy style dish (see picture) which was completely opposite to what was expected.
Making matters worse, while on call with the restaurant, the staff was very rude and outright lied that the Teller has gravy, although there is no mention of the word "Soße" in the description and argued wrongly that I had ordered the wrong dish.
They also mixed up the "very spicy" option and made the vindaloo very spicy instead of the Taj Mahal Teller.
Expected to have a nice comforting dinner but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Will not...
