Gastraum Weintanne. - Institut für Trinkkultur — Restaurant in Jena

We booked for 2 people (food and drinks) for a Saturday and already the exchange via answering machine and call back was friendly and pleasant. Booking was necessary, as this appears to be a highly frequented place and all seats were taken by 7:30PM. The menu is short but interesting, a vegetarian option is available, the service is very good and the drinks are great. The price for the menu with 3 courses at 40 Euros is top!

What made our visit unique was the incredible kindness of our waiter who returned a mistakenly given 50 € bill.

I have been a frequent guest here which means: I really love it! You will find great drinks of any kind but most of all the cocktails... They freaking blow your mind! Awesome quality! Everything is fresh and homemade. A bit more expensive than usual cocktails, but worth every penny. The taste is beyond compare! Don't forget about the food! As good as the cocktails. Local. This place is the absolute best, I have yet to find such a comfortable bar in the rest of Germany. Ordering a drink here is an experience! The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. If you ask them to, they will recommend you something based on your flavour profile. Their descriptions of the drinks are always incredibly spot on (I have once been told a drink tastes like train rails smell in the summer, it did).
