Syrisches Restaurant Shawaland offers a delightful atmosphere and a welcoming environment, featuring traditional Eastern cuisine. After a long time, I finally enjoyed some excellent falafel here. Über das Schawaland kann ich nichts schlechtes sagen. Allerdings befindet sich direkt rechts daneben ein iranisches Restaurant mit dem Namen "Restaurant Bar Diana". Dieses würde ich definitiv NICHT besuchen!

Uns wurde dort eines der teuersten Gerichte angedreht mit der Begründung, dass man gerade nur das da hätte und es ja außerdem sehr gut schmeckt. Beim Bezahlen kamen dann nochmals 6€ zusätzlich oben drauf, weil man angeblich (und ohne danach gefragt zu haben) noch irgendwelche Dips dazu bekommen hätte, die eigentlich nicht zum Gericht gehören. Selbst wenn das so wäre, hatten mein Freund und ich 12€ für drei kleine Schälchen Dip bezahlt. Einfach nur dreiste Abzocke! Das Essen ist typisch iranisch, aber davon abgesehen jetzt auch nicht besonders gut.

Achja...warum schreibe ich die Rezension hier? Weil das Restaurant Diana bei Google als "dauerhaft geschlossen" angezeigt wird, damit man keine Bewertungen schreiben kann. Ganz zwielichtiger Laden. Und die haben es als "Aushängeschild für gelungene Integration" in die Jenaer Zeitung geschafft. Bloß nicht übers Ohr...

Fantastic Syrian restaurant with great flavours. My current favourite item is the chicken shawarma. Love the portion size as well as the slightly tangy flavour in the mayonnaise they use with the meat. Not to mention the way they lightly toast the wrap with which they make the durum roll after making it so that nothing spills out....
