The Bean — Restaurant in Jena

Edited review after one year of visit:

The Bean has become a disappointment. After a year, I visited Jena again for work and had a coffee at the Bean yesterday.

Everything went downhill.

The guy behind the bar was a different guy with unrefined manners. Older and ruder. I don’t understand why some people choose to work in the service sector when they themselves don’t want to serve, or make themselves pleasant to customers.

Coffee— oh gosh. Just disgusting. People should drink coffee, not sour water from burnt beans. All I could smell was burnt ash. ———————-

Last year: Spacious and cozy cafe with a great view of the JenTower. The coffee was on point and so was the carrot cake. The cashier guy who also happened to be a barista was super cute...

I normally don't order Chai anywhere outside North India because I am sure it doesn't exist 😂 So was intrigued by "Chai latte coffee" here, drank the Power Chai coffee variant; it was not Chai as I know it but something completely different sweet Milky Cinnamony with coffee also somewhere beneath.....guess this is innovation... Deutsche Chai in the sun in the middle of Jena town after Chatting with perhaps the friendliest barista in the world who kept speaking in English to me & me replied in my broken Deutsch 😂 life doesn't get any better,...

The staff are nice, the place is so nice too, you van have a good conversation with friends there. The coffee wasn’t that good!! maybe because I love coffee too much and I expected a lot XD XD. I had a chocolate donut which was awesome, and a red velvet muffin which was a regular red cake not a...
