I was very hopeful for this place because their website was very appealing. At first impression I thought this place was very promising and that the baristas will prepare me a great espresso! I ordered an espresso and a lemon cake slice which was served to me very quickly :) However, the espresso was over-extracted, smelled burnt and was very bitter. The lemon cake slice was very tough (perhaps due to an overworked batter), so I left half of it on the table.

When I made my way to the cashier to inquire about which of their coffee beans are suitable for making espresso, the cashier said they all are. I'm not a professional barista, but I do know that while any coffee bean can be used on any machine, dark roasts is preferred and creates a rich and velvety finish that a light roast wouldn't. I stepped back to look around myself for a bag of coffee beans that said espresso on them (to be on the safe side). When I was finally ready to pay, I asked the same person to give me a bag of their Espresso #3. She said they're out of stock and I pointed it out to her to call her out on her mistake (it was on the shelf right next to her). She did not seem very focused and was not very confident. I suspect they don't really receive proper training before working at this lovely looking place....

Medium sized, cozy coffee roaster.

Everytime I've been here it's packed to the brim and I think that speaks worlds to the quality being offered here.

Good selection of coffee brewing methods as well as beans. The bean selection also rotates often which makes repeat visits worth it. They sell plenty of coffee equipment as well.

The only complaints would be waiting time to be served as well as difficulty finding a place to sit though those are just a consequence of being full.

Would definetly recommend getting a reservation if you know you're going there...

Absolut nicht zu empfehlen! Noch nie so einen unfreundlichen und inkompetenten Service erlebt. Ich war jahrelang Kunde bis ich eine sehr teure Kaffeemaschine hier gekauft habe… Diese wies nach dem Auspacken jedoch direkt Verarbeitungsmängel auf - eine Tropfschale bei der das Gitter nicht zu entnehmen war, weil die Spaltmaße nicht passten. Später fiel auch noch auf, dass die Brühkopfdichtung nur mit massivem Kraftaufwand (wobei man öfter abrutscht und sich verletzten kann) zum Reinigen zu entnehmen war - Ursache laut ECM Service wohl eine ungenaue Fräsung. Die Tropfschale wurde anfangs gegen ein verkratztes Ausstellungsstück getauscht (meiner Meinung nach bei einem Preis von über 2000€ schon mehr als unverschämt)… Als ich dann direkt nach Bemerken des Problems die Brühkopfdichtung bemängelt habe, durfte ich mir von Inhaber Herr Bebensee anhören, dass ich nicht unfreundlich sein soll und lieber dankbar dass er so ein guter Mensch ist und die Tropfschale schon getauscht hat. Weiter weigerte er sich dann einfach den Mangel anzuerkennen, da es in seinen Augen kein Mangel wäre - die Schuld läge bei mir, da man die Brühkopfdichtung frühestens nach einem Jahr entnehmen dürfte. Wenn Herr Bebensee die Bedienungsanleitung gelesen hätte wüsste er, dass diese Behauptung nicht stimmt - da ist das Entnehmen der Brühkopfdichtung zum Reinigen nämlich Schritt für Schritt erklärt. Mit weitere Behauptungen wie: „Die Garantie ist jetzt Erloschen, weil das Entnehmen der Brühkopfdichtung einen Eingriff darstellt - Das ist das selbe wie wenn man an einem Auto rumbastelt“, disqualifizierte sich Herr Bebensee der Inhaber nur noch weiter Ich kann nochmal jedem nur davon abraten...
