Kaisergarten — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

I ordered a Wrustsalat assuming that it includes wrustel and salad (I’m Italian, so this was my straightforward conceptualization). As soon I realized that was a salad entirely made by würstel, I called back the blond waiter (literally 2 minutes after having taking the order) and asked to change it with another dish. Unfortunately the waiter told me it was not possible because the order was already being placed in the kitchen. So the options were: take it or additionally order something else. I gave them a chance and tried the so-called Wrustsalat. It was made of about 500 gr of würstel tasting really bad. I decided to order the lamb plate instead, and it was eventually tasting good. At the end of the dinner, I had to pay both the wrustsalat and the lamb. It was something a shame especially in regard of a tourist that was clearly unaware of the language of the menu (which was only German) and the specificity of the plate. My boyfriend and I went to have dinner at Kaisergarten to celebrate our anniversary while in Germany. Although no one in the staff speaks english fluently, they were all very nice.

What I loved about the location is that it is elegant yet not super posh, the atmosphere was nice. We didn't wait too much for our food, except for the dessert. All the rest of the dishes were served in less than 15 minutes (despite the fact that there were many other customers around). I'm normally a bit picky on food, especially meat-based dishes, but I have nothing bad to say this time. Everything was delicious, as for the dessert it went beyond my expectations, so it was worth the waiting time.

If I happen to visit Karlsruhe again, I'll definitely come back again.

As for the price, it's not too expensive (gulash is probably the most expensive dish on the menu, and it is 23,90). However, the quality of the food was definitely...

Have been passing along this restaurant and gave it a try. I've been selecting the pork steak filled with sheep's cheese + croquettes ( priced at 10.90 EUR ) from their lunch menu a try. Food was okay but I had higher expectations. Staff was very friendly.

Update: Have been giving them another try and was rather disappointed. If I visit a restaurant at lunch time and order a meal which is a special offer / creation at that time and there are multiple versions I expect the waiter to at least ask which version I would like. Of course the wrong version was served - also at the end on the bill. The 2 star rating is only because of 1 super friendly and attentive waitress there ... otherwise it would be the...
