Guglhupf Cafe - Koblenz — Restaurant in Koblenz

Went to this cafe because of the reviews but - what a waste of time. Terrible, non existent service! Everyone in the reviews raved about the food!!! I ask - what food?! This is a tiny cafe, that, if you're lucky, might seat 15 people on a good day. There is so little room they don't have a counter service so the staff come to you to take your order. Perhaps absent-minded could best describe our waitress, who turned up to take our coffee order. Which, after taking, she turned on heal and flounced off before we had any chance of asking for food. Well - we surmised, perhaps they do this a little differently here and take the food order once they bring your drink - BUT No!!!!! Plonked the drinks down and did a great disappearing trick - Houdini would be proud!!!! Apparently they just didn’t need any customers messing up the kitchen today. So, despite trying to gain the attention of the 2 staff (who appeared completely engrossed for 10 minutes in the detail required to cut a cake) we left without tasting ANYTHING. Won't bother...

Stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe as we waited for our train, and were extremely pleased with the cleanliness and lovely interior. The staff member that served us was great and took the extra time to explain all the excellent varieties of cakes. The one we chose was salted caramel apple cheesecake, which blew me away with its light yet rich texture and blooming flavours and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

A fully well deserved 5 stars and if I ever find myself in Koblenz I will surely make my way back down to try more of those wonderful cakes with...

Aufgrund der Bewertungen haben wir die Lokalität Mitte April mal besucht. Und ganz ehrlich den Hype um die vielen positiven Bewertungen können wir nicht nachvollziehen.Beim betreten waren wir noch positiv gestimmt,nur 3 Leute im Lokal.Aber dann gings los.Ewig lange auf eine Bedienung gewartet.Die dann auch kam und fragte was man wolle,aber woher wollte man das wissen,denn es waren keine Karten auf dem Tisch und man bekam auch keine.OK trotz alledem ein Kakao mit Sahne und ein Cappuccino bestellt.Während der Wartezeiten hat man sich umgeschaut und festgestellt das in den Leuchten an der Decke sich dunkle Wäscheleinen sprich Spinnweben die schon länger da sind von einer Kerze zur andern zogen Das Glas der Kuchenvitrine in der Ecke rief auch schon nach Reiniger.Der Kakao war geschmacklich nicht so der Hit kein bissl schokoladig.Die Sahne könnte frisch gewesen sein aber nicht sicher.Den bekommt man so überall, vielerorts auch wesentlich besser.Der Cappuccino war echt eine Überraschung die darin bestand das die Tasse nur minimal größer wie eine Espresso Tässchen war und der stolze Preis von 4 € für das Tässchen.Und von all den Kuchensorten die es da geben sollte,hat man nur ein Käsekuchen in der Auslagen gesehen.Ob und was es evtl.mehr gegeben hat war nirgendwo ersichtlich,weder auf der Tafel hinter der Theke oder auf einer evtl.Karte die man ja nicht zu Gesicht bekommen hat.Einzig positiv ist der Einrichtungsstil und auch wenn Sie etwas überfordert und gestresst rüber kam,die Freundliche Art der Bedienung.
