Cafe Del Sol Lünen — Restaurant in Lünen

Probably the worst customer service I have had in a decade! Asked for just a side order of fries for my 4-year-old but the waiter told us we needed to looked at the kids' menu...and then never brought it. After over 5 min, we went and got one. 15 minutes after we all had ordered our food, he finally agreed to bring us a side order of fries for our famished kid. The food came quickly (but only 4/5 dishes) from a different person, but then we sat there for almost 5 minutes again without silverware. We had to signal to a different waiter to get them. We then realized the basket of silverware had no spoon for my soup and that the waiter also never brought the ketchup we ordered with the fries. We were all nearly finished eating when the final entree came. In all, we had to walk up to the bar or signal to another waiter at least 5 times because of the incompetence of our waiter.

Oh, and the food wasn't good either. The obnoxious amount of feta on my burger was tasty but the burger looked like an overcooked McDonald's quarter pounder. And the chicken and potatoes....I could teach my 4-year-old to cook potatoes and pan fry chicken that lame. Would have even been a pinch better if they remembered...

Well, where to start. My girlfriend and I visited this Cafe Del Sol especially because it was where we went on our first day. On our year anniversary, we went along. It was a special moment for us. Returning to the place where we met.

Oh, what a heart breaking experience. We reserved a table and got placed somewhere in the middle. Of the floor. My girlfriend order the soup and that's where it all went wrong. A piece of sharp plastic was in her soup. This could have choked her. It could have hurt it. It was serious. And all the staff did was say sorry and spent 15 minutes getting another soup. Then, for the main courses, my burger was cold as were my chips. I spoke to the person in charge who said everything would be free, before returning with the bill and saying she couldn't do that and I had to pay for 50%of it.

This was suppose to be a special moment for us. A type of moment you never get back. And thanks to this incompetent restaurant it was ruined. I shall never return to this place and I will make sure that everyone knows how dreadful this restaurant really is. Shame on you, Cafe Del Sol....

Disappointing and Unpleasant Experience

We visited this café with our family, expecting a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. We ordered drinks, a warm meal, and a dessert, but to our surprise, dessert (which included ice cream) was served first. When we politely asked why, the waitress responded in a very rude and aggressive manner, blaming us for the order. Her angry tone upset our daughter, making the situation even more uncomfortable.

Feeling humiliated and hurt, we decided to leave without touching our food. We intended to pay for the water we had consumed, but another staff member insisted we pay for the full meal, which we never even received. He was extremely unprofessional and bullied us in-front of so many people , stating that it was “his place and his rules,” and we felt pressured into paying unfairly.

We came for an enjoyable evening but left extremely upset, with a deeply disappointing memory. This kind of customer treatment is unacceptable, and we cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and respectful...
