Gemrieli - Georgisches Restaurant — Restaurant in Leipzig

The food was taste wise close to what we had in Georgia, the complaint is in the rice. It was overcooked into a mush to the point, that you could barely make out the grains. The service was mostly friendly when speaking but mas otherwise bad. Waitress doesn't come to the table on her own, you have to call them both if you want to order and if you want to pay or anything else. Got served one by one instead of everyone getting the food at the same time. Basically one plate at a time . Got the main dish 2-3 minutes after the soup was served, we still had more than half of the soup in the bowl when it has arrived. When mentioning it to the waitress, she said that it can't be controlled. Not a "sorry" or anything. Empty plates were left at the table for a long time so we had to play tetris at the table to eat comfortably while the service workers were standing behind the counter talking with each other and having a good time and laughing. The Menu has a good selection, the improvement could be that it should describe the food better. The location itself...

So far the best Georgian food in Germany, and I am on the hunt. It is also one of the most expensive. Khinkali is about 3.5€ for one, kebabs from 19 up, appetizers around 10. The sodas 6€ a piece. Alltogether a dinner for two is about 100-150 euro. It is not my first visit and it will not be my last, as I said it is so far the closest to the authentic cuisine, not ideal but the closest, and I travel around the country a lot, looking along the way for a proper georgian cuisine. As it is unqestionably the best. The service, the atmosphere is good for a date, family dinner, event, business meeting and just to eat a nice meal alone. The staff is polite and helpful. There is indoor and outdoor seating in the front and in the back of the place....

Wir waren gestern Abend mit 4 Personen im Gemrieli. Bestellt wurde alles mit einmal - 4 Getränke, 3 x Vorspeise und 4 x Hauptgang mit 2 Beilagen (Pommes & Georgische Bratkartoffeln). Die Getränke kamen nach 30 Minuten, die Vorspeise nach 60 Minuten. Die doch sehr lange Wartezeit haben wir zu dem Zeitpunkt noch akzeptieren können, da das Restaurant relativ voll war. Die Kellnerin rannte (sie rannte wirklich) während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes dauerhaft durch das Restaurant und war sichtlich überfordert. 2 Hauptspeisen kamen nach 90 Minuten,- leider ohne die dazu bestellten Beilagen! Nach 10 Minuten fragte ich nach den Beilagen an der Bedienung der Bar, ihre Antwort war sie fragt nach. Die Bratkartoffeln wurden daraufhin zu Tisch gebracht. Kurz darauf kam der 2 Hauptgang aber die 2 Beilage Pommes fehlte immernoch. Wir fragten wieder an der Bar, darauf kamen die Pommes, aber keine Entschuldigung- mein Hauptgang war der zu der Zeit schon kalt da ich 15 minuten auf die Beilage warten und 2 x nachfragen musste! Wir aßen und unsere 4 Bestellung ließ auf sich warten. Während des gesamten Aufenthaltes kam die Bedienung nicht ein einziges Mal zu unserem Tisch um eventuell weitere Getränke Bestellungen aufzunehmen. Alle waren fertig bis auf unsere vierte Person am Tisch. Wir gingen wieder zur Bar und forderten die Rechnung mit dem Hinweis das eine bestellte Hauptspeise fehlt und diese von der Rechnung gestrichen wird. Kurz darauf kam die Dame von der Bar und begründete das ausbleiben der letzten Hauptspeise damit, dass unser Tisch zu klein gewesen wäre! Absolut frech, nach all den Nachfragen und Problemen mit so einer "Entschuldigung" zu argumentieren. Auf meine Nachfrage des Entgegenkommens bezüglich des Preises oder etwas aufs Haus geben zu wollen kam KEINE Reaktion. Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut, jedoch war es natürlich für unser nicht sonderlich schön zu Essen, während eine Person mit Hunger am Tisch sitzen bleiben muss!

So etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt, wir waren fassungslos und können dieses Restaurant absolut nicht...
