AGRA MAHAL — Restaurant in Ludwigshafen am Rhein

Hi All I visited Agramahal today and I would like to divide my review in three parts: - Ambiance and Welcome : It has amazing ambiance. Whole interior and decoration gives you a proper feeling of being at Indian place. Only thing which I would suggest them to improve is warm welcome and indian background music. Otherwise rest of the things like interior, decorative items, statues were all great. Service : Service was decent. They gave us time to settle and go through the menu. They took our order and delivered us in very quickly. Food : Was little disappointed at overall level here. Don't get me wrong. Taste of food was very good. Even it was served nicely. I was disappointed with two things: 1) Food served to us was not hot. In fact it was giving us feeling that it was pre-cooked in little advance and just by little heating it was served. 2) Options with the food was not flexible. I don't enjoy rice with all Indian curries, specially paneer based curries. They should give option of choosing between rice and roti / naan.

Overall a decent restaurant to enjoy Indian food...

Lackluster Indian with extreme waiting times! After reading all the bad reviews we still decided to try due to short distance from hotel and lack of options. Oh my, what a bad decision that became to be... I can do nothing else than to confirm all the other bad reviews. Even in an almost empty restaurants we had to wait 15 min before being able to order food. After another 25-30 min the food finally arrived. The food (butter chicken) lacked in taste, the chicken was dry and the gravy was bland. The typical taste you expect from garam masala or fenugreek was non-existent... Furthermore, the portions were small, while the amount of rice was huge. Our neighbouring table choose to leave due to the lack of attentive service and the extreme waiting time...

Really enjoyed my visit. When I first entered it was busy with lots of local people which is a great sign for me as a visitor to the area. I ordered the Chicken Karahi and it was delicious! Nice big portion and came with lots of rice. The butter naan was fantastic. Both waiters were very nice and not intrusive when I was trying to eat, but attentive when I needed something.

I ordered one cocktail which tasted like it was 99% alcohol, but then switched to the Reisling which was much better. I also ordered Gulab Jamun for dessert. The atmosphere and decor was lovely and there was a nice buzz to the place.

Looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in...
