Kaffeerösterei Simon — Restaurant in Memmingen

The water got disconnected from the room for almost one day without any notification or apologies from the Hotel. And when the water came back it was brown with rust and small debris. The room was very cold and the heating system was not working when we asked they brought us small electrical movable heaters with a broken base so u need to carry the thing every time inside the room. The windows were leaking air. The door access card had to be reprogrammed 6 times in 8 days. So when u reach the room we had to go down to the reception in a queue to ask the receptionist to reprogram and the receptionist has to make sure each time that u are the real occupant of the room by asking you for ur identity. This place is an absolute gem. When we were in Munich we felt fortunate to have found Vogelmaier’s excellent coffee roastery but I have to say I think Kaffeerösterei Simon here in little Memmingen is every bit its equal. Their Stadtbach-Mischung is superb: rich and aromatic but with no harsh bite. And, like Vogelmaier, it is also a first-class coffeeshop. They have delicious baked goods and their espresso drinks are excellent. We loved our cappuccinos and the croissant was the best we've had in a while! Thankfully, the barista spoke very good English and we understood each other perfectly.
