Café Kaulard "Monschauer Vennbrock" — Restaurant in Monschau

Very bad experience.

We ordered 3 cakes and 3 hot drinks.

Our Hungarian friend asked for a glass of water, they replied to her "everything has to be paid in Monschau" that sets the tone. Service 0

We also found out that the "limonade is in fact a "fanta". So probably here within a radius of 1km because that's not the case in the rest of Germany. You can also ask wikipedia although never trust the internet.

I took the apple struddle it has nothing amazing it seems like an unfrozen cake. For such a window it's a bit a disapointment. Also my hot chocolate cale with half a biscuit :D. Cuisine 0.

Well in fact it seems that all kind of tourists are not welcommed here. Food is not handmade. Pass your way your day will brighter elsewhere. And guys please change job this is not for you.

And last but not least when paying the 2 limonades we sent back to the kichen were charged. We had an argument with the owner. Best place...

At the beginning, the cafe makes a nice cozy impression. However, down at the counter not really warm kind reception. "What would you like?" no "hello" or similar this applies also for the service. We were offered to take a seat upstairs and then get the cake brought. After about 15 minutes, there was still no cake. Then only one arrived. After asking the staff it took another five minutes until the second was brought.The service seemed overwhelmed although the café was only half full. Now to the most important the cake: the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte consisted mainly of cream and had a cookie base, this is not typical and really disappointing for such a cafe but so you probably save costs. This place is a joke and a relatively bad one to start with.

Located in the center it has terrace that does not look as bad as the service is.

The staff is very unfriendly and does not speak a word of English which is definitely an interesting combination for a touristy place...

I wanted to order a simple espresso but I have been told the simple espresso I can only order inside and on the terrace I can order only a double. To be honest it is the first time I have heard anything like this. I kinda assume that even in mining town in East Germany in the 70s you may get better service.
