Bibulus — Restaurant in Munich

The "writing" is not new, but (rare in these days) the "story" is still true. Moving ! ++ What is the most "delicate person" to take to a restaurant ?

Yes, your own wife, and I can hardly describe how well we have been "treated". It makes over 30 years that I stay in Munich, but this is one of the places to "go" to. GRAZIE !

Bibulus is a "ristorante", for sure, quite fashionable, not cheap. Located, once more fashionable (these days) close to Münchner Freiheit (immigrants from NRW will never understand) , at the crossing of Clemens-Straße and Wilhelm-Straße. Erich-Mühsam-Platz. He was a writer. 4 minutes from U-Bahn. In summer time, quite some tables outside, it is quiet. And, also, some times important, Bibulus is a place of great discretion, the waiters being of really supreme quality. Afterwards, you will learn that the waiters, incredible caracters, belong to the owners of the place, before working at one of the most renowned places of Italian restaurants in Munich. +++ The great quality of the menu list is that the choices to be made are not ecclectic. As I always explain to guests (there have been many !) everything is (really) delicious, and no harm to go for two starters. - Apulia has no high mountains, but I - and the waiters know it - imagined Bibulus as a kind of rifugio in the mountains, and you come exhausted, in need of food. May be some little soup first, great. Bibulus, still, is delicious, to the utmost. It got a very "Munich" place, but - this is precious, "Old Munich", the highest category you can get up. I was sitting with my former colleague in front of the bar (you need Ages to get there ..), and our neighbour came from ... Old Munich ! So, we had some words, on Jorge Semprun, a writer. And on 2002 ! And we have been eating Pasta, with some sugo, for sure "Apulian mountain style", tasty, very enjoyable, simple, mountains. The parfait at the very end was absolutely delicious. I had some Moscato, sparkling, before leaving. GREAT place, indeed...

We go there often for lunch and dinner. It’s a Michelin recommended restaurant, for lunch menu is as low as 18€ with 2 courses 🤩 food is super fresh and very tasty. Its portion is not small as u can see from the pics, service is very good, outdoor tables also have good distance between each other while indoor is very cozy and elegant. It’s our always return...

Outdoor seating is very nice and I liked the food. Simple dishes not too much seasoning but tasty, my turbot was slightly dry though. No specials. What makes me not give more stars, is the non-motivated and not interested staff. Had to remind them to order, did not ask for Espresso or dessert option. Had to be reminded to pay. For the price you pay service...
