My recent visit to the Matcha Cafe was a mixed experience. On the bright side, their cakes stood out as the highlight of the visit. Each cake was deliciously crafted, boasting a perfect balance of flavors and textures that delighted my taste buds. The matcha flavor in the cakes was particularly impressive, offering a genuine and refined taste that matcha enthusiasts would appreciate.
However, the milk tea was a disappointment. It lacked the depth and richness I expected, resulting in a beverage that was underwhelming in both taste and quality. This was surprising, considering the cafe’s focus on matcha and tea-based products.
As for the matcha itself, it was satisfactory but didn’t quite hit the high mark set by the cakes. It was decent enough for a casual drink, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression.
In summary, while the Matcha Cafe shines in its cake offerings, there’s room for improvement in their beverages, particularly the milk tea. I would recommend the cafe for their delightful cakes, but with a note of caution...
Read more6 months ago when I first started coming here I dropped by literally every other day and I addddooooorrreeeeddd this tea house back then and rated it 5 stars for the lovely tea experience!
But as the months went by I can’t help but notice the drop in the quality of food and spike in prices. Used to love the matcha mousse when it first came out (even tho the price was already pushing it... since it was already such a thin and flimsy slice...) and now it’s been cut down to only a square inch in size?????? Are you serious? Then the rice bowls came out and tbh it’s a rip off.... not to mention that the tea experience is already not as “pure” and “eventful” as it should be. If you’d like to be a tea house you should at least put some effort into promoting the culture, instead of trying to rip customers off with...
Read moreIf you are a fan of matcha or tea in general, you are in the best place in Munich for that. They offer many matcha drink variants as well as traditional matcha, served in a bowl and stirred with a bamboo whisk. They also serve cakes and mochi. I was always welcomed overly friendly by the staff. For vegans, there are also many options like rice milk etc. The prices are fair in my eyes, as matcha and premium teas are quite expensive and they seem to have high quality standards at Letcha. If you go to Starbucks for a big coffee with sirup, you pay the same.
tl;dr: a nice cozy teacafe with very good organic...
