Cafe Noel — Restaurant in Munich

When the good reviews get in your head, you lose your kindness and humanity. This is exactly how I felt today, as we were going to meet some friends of us who are usual customers of this place. We have been there several times but today was a different story. I was coming in with my 1 year old who had fall asleep in his buggy, it was very cold and windy outside, as I was trying to enter the cafe, the woman who is the owner of the place came out, did not even look at me, banged her hand in the door as to show me a sign they had placed there, where it said "no buggies allowed" she did not even made eye contact, it was so rude and disrespectful towards me, I have gone there so many times with my buggy. She could have greeted and say "sorry not allowed" but the way she handled herself towards us with this earned attitude, especially when my little one was sleeping and it was cold, no care, no empathy, just plain rude, careless manner. I’ve been to Cafe Noel a few times now, mostly because my sister is a big fan. But I must say it’s not a cafe I would pick myself. It’s always awfully busy, loud and stuffy and I’m not big on their cakes either. But this weekend was different . It was surprisingly empty for a Saturday afternoon - we almost did a double-take, wondering what was wrong for it to be only half-full, maybe the 2G rule?! Anyway, it was very easy to then notice the charm - what a cozy place with a lovely decor! we ended up having a wonderful time! The cake however was sooo sweet, I actually cringed when I tasted it 🙊 would I go back? If the atmosphere is as relaxed as it was this last weekend, certainly! But if I want to have cake I’ll definitely look...

The location and decoration is great but the service was horrible! It took us 15 minutes to order a coffee and we were just seated in front of the bar where they were working. They looked a bit stress and they were just fighting between the team. The people were leaving upset and the man who looked the boss put all the fault on the young guy who didnt stop running between the tables and it was the boss who provoque this costumers to leave giving them a bad answer when they asked if they needed to order at the bar or they come to the table as they were waiting for a long time aswell.
