Very good prices for pretty good food. I'm an American studying in Germany, and this place is my go-to place for Mexican food here. And usually I find Mexican food in Germany REALLY disappointing. This place, however, is great.
It really is more of a food-court stand with seats than it is a restaurant. Don't expect fancy seating or service; you order at the "bar" and get a number to pick up your order. I like the atmosphere, though. It's cozy and has some Mexico-themed decorations.
The food isn't super luxurious, but great for the price. The chips aren't phenomenal, but the guacamole is great. So yeah, the food isn't perfect, per se, but still really awesome. And the burritos are really close to perfect for me.
Yeah, I always get a burrito (with the pineapple pork, it's awesome). And with student ID, you can get a drink for 1,20€ with the burrito (or with a burrito bowl or a quesadilla).
The burrito bowls are great too, but aren't as filling as the burritos. Just a heads-up. They don't actually come with the tortilla, but have more salad and rice.
And the best thing is; they have fresh limeade! Definitely something the American in me appreciates.
TL;DR: Good, fast meals for a great price. Don't expect the best meal in the world, but for the price, it...
Read moreA bit disappointed, I was a bit hesitant to try tacos here just due to the general muting of flavor at many of the other places I’ve eaten at in Germany, but I took a risk and tried it.
Needless to say this was a very disappointing meal even though I already came in with lower expectations. The meat for the chicken was dry which is hard to do when you literally cook the chicken in sauce to make Tinga or pibil. The tortillas were flimsy and broke apart, seems like they were taken out of the package and then immediately thrown on some meat, no warming up or anything prior. My burrito was also disappointing the carnitas were way too salty, the rice and beans were just off, tortilla tasted like dough. I felt dehydrated after eating the burrito. The beef taco was just ground up beef. I could have gone to the store grabbed a random package of ground beef and cooked it with some oil and had a tastier taco than what I had, I think it was supposed to be some sort of picadillo but it was nasty, I didn’t finish it and I don’t like to leave food uneaten. Overall the staff were friendly and nice, the restaurant had a bunch of flies flying around, and the ambiance was okay. I Will not come again nor recommend this to anyone who craves some...
Read moreNice place for Mexican food, was there with friends from Mexico City and they really liked it :) Offer ranges from burrito over tacos and quesadillas (if you don't know quesadillas yet& you like cheese: try! You can have them vegetarian or add meat). For all dishes you can choose which meat you prefer (beef, pork, chicken) and which spice level you prefer (be aware of the last two levels, this is rrreally spicy). Of course you can also add an extra portion of guacamole (which I always do for the burrito amigo). They also offer beverages, special to mention is the broad variety of different kinds of lemonades (try rhubarb lemonade or the authentic Mexican one with tamarind). If you can't eat coriander/cilantro mention this if you chose tacos, because usually they're prepared with coriander (but can be taken away if you don't want it). Burrito and quesadillas don't have coriander in as standard. The place is rather small, so don't count on being able to get a seat at standard eating times, but they're well prepared for take away and there are lots of banks at Münchner Freiheit around to sit. In my pictures you can see the burrito with beef and the taco with pork (tacos are with a big portion...
