Wanted to visit this place since forever and finally made it last Saturday. Unfortunately, this was far below my expectations. Adjaruli Khachapuri was priced as double of a regular dish, but it was way too small for two people. We had few starters, so it was ok at the end, but it's definitely too small. For the price it should be either way bigger or the price should be decreased (in half?) The taste of Khachapuri was somehow worse than I usually ate in Georgia or Russia. I never had it with egg whites so it really tasted like fried eggs rather than yolks-only. Also I think the cheese was not really the right cheese. Might be okay as "german variation", but I really think it's not the best Khachapuri I've tried. Borsch was available as vegan-only dish, no meat variant. Bathroom was in, hmmm, "soviet" "style" (which means no style at all), doesn't really make any positive impressions Even shortly after opening at 1pm on Saturday the place got crowded and became loud really quickly. For sure not the place for quiet eating, really crowdy. And the last but not the least - they don't accept cards for payments! It's just unbelievable, for a proper restaurant after covid and everything in 2023...
So bad the most advertised/well-known Georgian restaurant in Munich is...
Read moreIt was my first time visiting this restaurant and since a friend is from Georgia, he did order for us. The menu is very extensive and many dishes are vegetarian. Some impressed me more, like the flatbread filled with cheese and another one that had the cheese on top.
The bread was extremely soft and the cheese was perfectly melted. The Georgian salad was also simple but delicious. Some beef stew with tomato sauce was also very nice (similar to a goulash) The mushrooms filled with cheese were fine but not special
There was another stew made with pieces of chicken in a delicious garlic sauce I also tried the dumplings with broth and meat in them. I think that a nice sauce to go with them, would have been perfect
To pair all that I had a semi sweet wine and some traditional sparkling drinks
The only thing that bothered me was the ventilation inside the dining room. That evening was quite warm and the air conditioner was placed too high and we could not enjoy the cool breeze :(
Other than this, the service was excellent and the food (almost all of it) was absolutely amazing. I would totally recommend...
Read moreVisited Iveria for the first time last Thursday and ordered several of my favorite Georgian dishes. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but after reading several of the google reviews, I set my standards quite high.
As our starters, we ordered the eggplants with walnuts, lobio and khachapuri. The eggplants were tasty, the lobio was as good as I remembered it being in Tbilisi and the Khachapuri was just simply delicious.
As our two main courses, we ordered pork Schaschlik and my favorite Georgian dish, chanakhi. My girlfriend really enjoyed her Schaschlik. I also tried it and must say it was very good. Meat was tender and perfectly spiced. My chanakhi was not the best I’ve ever had, but very good. I thought the meat wasn’t as tender as I expected it to be.
All-in-all, I can highly recommend Iveria if you’re interested in trying something “new” and if you’ve tried or ever had Georgian cuisine. You definitely won’t be...
