A great experience!
You get a big plastic bowl, and fill it with ingredients for the soup, to your hearts desire. It's very easy, to overfill the bowl, because of the wide variety. I was aiming for 400g, and left quite a bit out, that I wanted to try, but still ended up at over 700g. Which was a bit more, than I could stomach. This means, I'll have to visit them again and again, choosing smaller portions, until I've tried everything.
I chose the bone broth, and felt, that the taste was quite authentic. It was a well seasoned, flavorful and rich broth. I enjoyed it more than the basic (and spicy) broth that they offer.
Spicyness: variable, can be ordered to taste. They actually serve spicy spicy food. Not to be taken for granted in Germany.
They also offer non-soup preparations for those who prefer their food dry.
They even offer some specials a la carte, they also looked quite interesting.
We also got Krupuk as a snack while waiting and a scoop of ice cream after the meal, which was a nice surprise.
All in all, Can't complain, and will...
Read moreOne of a few Malatang restaurant in Munich. Food taste great, offer authentic hard-to-find Chinese ingredients which pleased me very much. You can’t find them anywhere not even some Chinese restaurant. Staff is polite, friendly and can speak german. They calculate price according to weight. Which mean if you choose vegggie or tofu it will not worth the price compare to meat or seafood. It’s a fair price but if you have tight budget you have to choose carefully. Like I said Price is reasonable regarding the ingredients and they offer 1 side dish and ice cream which considerate as Malatang usually quite spicy. One of a kind authentic Malatang that you can’t find...

The "Mala" soup lacked the expected spiciness and numbing sensation, ultimately falling short on flavor. And it is Not Cheap! Unfortunately, two of my friends experienced diarrhea on the same night, leading us to the decision of...
