I stopped by after a long walk along the Isar on this beautiful Sunday morning and had a delicious healthy breakfast while watching the world go by.
🔥What's special? This neighborhood cafe has been there for many years and it continues to be a great place to eat. Tables are spread out to allow privacy. You can enjoy a gluten-free pancake for breakfast, an Oriental Goddess Bowl for lunch, homemade banana bread as a sweet treat in the afternoon, or some antipasti and truffle pasta for dinner.
If you want the vegan "all-in-one-option", I recommend the "Fittes Herz" that came with a slice of avocado bread (topped with greens and pepper), a side of home made hummus (add 2€) and a small Acai Bowl. It looks small but its filling. Avo toast was delicious (9/10), the Acai Bowl was okay (6/10). It had a very strong berry taste, hence the Acai flavor was barely noticeable. And only two slices of banana seemed very little.
🌍Sustainability: They offer seasonal and regional sourced food with quite a few vegan and gluten-free options
🥑Vegan Options Breakfast: Acai Bowl, Mighty Mango Bowl, Oatmeal, Hummus bread, Fruit Salad or Avocado Toast
🌾Gluten-Free Options Breakfast: Fruit Salad, pancakes, oatmeal, Acai/mighty mango bowl.
🙋♀️Service: Excellent. Fast and friendly.
⏰Opening Hours: Great for early birds. Its open Tue - Sun from 9 am - 10pm
🏡Design/Vibe: The new indoor design has a tropical feeling and it looks very comfy and spacey. It offers indoor and outdoor seating.
📍Location: Conveniently located right next the subway station in the trendy neighbourhood Glockenbach, which is about 15 min walk from main square Marienplatz.
💶Price: Great! Fittes Herz (10.20€), Cappuccino with oat milk was (3.50€ plus 0.50€), Avocado Classic (9.80€), Hummus Classic (10.8€), pancakes (12-14€)
↗️Suggestions for owners: It would be lovely to offer a vegan pancake or a vegan banana bread, and a plant-based protein/fiber source for the salad would be fantastic i.e. chickpeas, tofu,...
Read moreHad sat at around 11:30 and ordered breakfast around 11:45. WITHOUT BEING INFORMED, after waiting around 50 mins for my breakfast to be served, I tried to understand the situation with our waitress and wanted to check the status with her.
However, a blonde waiter had interfered to our conversation and started to advise that in Germany once we order food we have to wait for it regardless how much service time it takes.
First of all as a common sense, not even talking about hospitality standards, a 3rd person should already know not to jump into a conversation I am having with their collegues which can annoy both customer and their collegues, as this may give the intention of underestimating his collegues ability of handling such issues.
Moreover, he started to tell that here is one of most popular brf place in Munich therefore it takes more than the average service time as they also have only 1 barista which I do not really care about their manning.
If you think that you are one of the best brf place in town you should escalate your service time accordingly. Not even talking about attitude of the staff as it seems to be a desperate case.
If you really have to much spare time in your life to waste as well to be treated with most disrespectful attitude this is the best place in Münich.
PS: walked to next door, trachtenvogl and same brk has been served in...
Read moreOn a cloudy and cold Thursday we went looking for a warm spot to get some freshly made breakfast. We chose to try out Hungriges Herz because of the inviting pictures of bowls and bagels circulating on the web! Although it was still early the cozy place was really full, but we were lucky to get a table right away. We ordered drinks that came right away and two breakfast super bowls: one Banana split bowl and a Himbeer bowl 🍲 ✅ You can find different types of milk that add a special taste to your coffee! We came and brought a lot of hunger and since the bowls were a bit too small, we got a juicy avocado toast with egg 🍳 topped with rucola. The bread was standard whole grain wheat and the avocado was spiced with lemon which tasted good although we would have added some fresh olive oil. The menu had a wide range of interesting snacks and because it was so full and loud we could not fully relax. That might have depended on our table that was placed right in the middle row, so if you’re looking for a more quiet place you can either go there on other days or ask to get another table. The prices are fair, and the service is fast and...
