Reserved for 5 people on a Friday evening (19:30) - so it was busy. It took a while before our table got menus, a bit longer before they came to take drink orders, and then even longer for food. BUT! Service was very friendly, especially in comparison to my experience in other Asian restaurants in Munich. Giving it 5 stars because I see potential growth! They're a young restaurant. Once they find their rhythm, I think they'll be a solid 5 stars. Cocktails were really nice. And everyone was really impressed with their food, which was also there not long after ordering. I had pho (it was a bit on the salty side - but that's how I like it. But unfortunately not so many beef pieces). It's not a huge restaurant, so I'd definitely recommend making reservations. Tables were pretty tight and the chatting got loud. But I would maybe consider putting the music a bit louder once some people leave and there is less chat. We were there until almost 22:45-ish, and it was a bit too quiet, especially for a Friday evening. Cute and modern style. I'll definitely come back to visit in the future since it's in my hood. Read moreI was really excited about trying Jalin for its incredible ratings but I have to say our experience was pretty weird.
I made a booking via the phone and arrived excited to order a drink and settle in, and I was immediately told we have the table for 2 hours. I’m not sure why this is the case, i question the time limit and the timing of expressing that.
I think Munich has a huge Vietnamese 🇻🇳 restaurant competition, it’s not necessarily an incredibly unique experience to only stay for a limited time I think if you are new and want to build a welcoming atmosphere you want to welcome your customers so they not only return but bring more friends and customers
It didn’t stop there, we kept getting interrupted if we wanted more orders, it felt too pushy even with ordering starters, drinks and mains. And while we were leaving we were shown the terms that it’s a 2 hour limit. The funny thing we actually only stayed 2 hours because we felt pushed and we were tired anyway. We didn’t need to be reminded it’s a 2 hr limit
Wouldn’t recommend the atmosphere. The food was good, but I wish it...
Read moreService: Friendly staff but painfully slow. Our mains arrived over 40 minutes after ordering, and we were seated right by the entrance with people constantly brushing past.
Food: Beef tartare marinated with something garlicky and oniony, with hoisin and sriracha on the side was completely off and lost its subtlety. The duck with fried rice felt like small-portion delivery food.
Atmosphere: Nice vibe inside, in a grey neighborhood.
We’re usually happy to pay for quality, but this felt like a total disappointment and ruined our mood. I really don’t understand the hype after experiencing the slow service and underwhelming food here. If you like Vietnamese food, it’s not really a...
