Service skills were lacking. Disappointed with the waitress. Especially at the end when she never came back to give me my change after I paid with cash. I included a tip but she took more and brought me the receipt instead and never came back. And we couldn't wait any longer because we had to leave to get the tram across the street. She was very short and unwelcoming. We had some questions about the menu but she just repeated what the menu said which didn't help. Not good character traits of a waitress. We needed the English menu version and needed WiFi to view it. We asked for the WiFi password twice because it didn't work. Then she typed it in finally and walked away but it was still incorrect. We asked another waitress who was younger and she was happily helpful. We mentioned my birthday to our waitress and got a weird look and no reply, but when mentioned to the other younger waitress who brought our drinks, she said Happy Birthday. Complete contrast. Maybe the older waitress was having a bad day?? Food was fine. Nothing wrong there. We got the soup with liver dumpling, the duck and the apple fritters and hausgemachter kaiserschmarrn for the two nights we dined. Everything tasted great! No complaints there. Just the waitress. First time we got served by the lady who is on the poster and that was a better experience. But won't go back because it was uncomfortable this time and felt unwelcomed. Maybe it's because we don't speak German? I don't know. It W's just odd behaviour...
Read moreNot as appealing as it use to be. We have been going to Metzgerwirt for more than a decade because it offered a wide range of very well prepared, generous size portioned dished in a casual environment.
We tried out 3 different dishes from past experiences and were disappointed with the quality and quantity of what was served.
The staff is young and splendid, but the old style cooking that made you think that someone special was cooking in the back is gone. In prior times, you could hear the cook hammering to tenderize and flatten the schnitzel before it was cooked. Prices are high and the food did not have the "home made" quality we remembered from before.
A pleasant atmosphere, but not something to replace...
Read moreRUDE service, when we asked politely about the bill he started speaking out loud in a really rude manner just because we asked since the price given was not what we expected. I just don’t understand why he trates us like that. The issue was that they directly charged a 10% tip (the highest if you read a guide on Munich) up front and I truly just asked about the charge with a smile and low voice. Definitely no need of such a show. Completely rude, out of context Food ok, price expensive just as you would expect on this area All I say is: I feel he treated me badly just b/c we ask for a plate to share and was rude...
