Café Romanplatz in München — Restaurant in Munich

I recently visited Cafe Romanplatz with some friends, and we ordered a variety of cakes and coffees. We started with the Himbeer Rahm Kuchen, which is a very light and airy cake with raspberries and cream. It was delicious and the portions were generous. We also tried the Käse Kuchen, which is a traditional German cheesecake. The cheesecake was rich and creamy. The Florentiner Apfelkuchen was bursting with delicious chunks of Apple with cinnamon. We also had the Bayrische Creme cake which again was surprisingly light and airy.

For coffee, we ordered a cappuccino and three ice coffees. The cappuccino was made with fresh espresso and steamed milk, and it was perfect. The ice coffees were also very good and strong they were served in tall glasses with whipped cream and chocolate shavings over Vanilla Ice.

Overall, we had a great experience at Cafe Romanplatz. The cakes were delicious, the coffee was excellent, and the service was friendly. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality is worth it. I would definitely recommend Cafe Romanplatz to anyone looking for a traditional German cake break.

Bei gutem Wetter ist die Versuchung groß, hier mal einen Kaffee oder ein Stück Kuchen auf der Terrasse zu genießen. Wir haben eine Weile gesessen und uns dann entschlossen, mal hineinzugehen, da wir eh ein Stück Kuchen o.ä, wollte und da schauen wir doch lieber alles an. Die Auslage war ernüchternd - SEHR wenig Auswahl. Und das Ambiente hat mich auch nicht überzeugt, alles sehr dunkel und wirkte insgesamt einfach nicht ansprechend.

Wäre aber trotzdem schön gewesen, wenn der Service mal nach draußen geschaut hätte.

Meine Wahl fiel auf einen Cappuccino (2,80€) und ein Mandelhörnchen (2,70€). Meine Begleitung hatte ein Stück Käsekuchen (3,50€).

Viel los war nicht und trotzdem war der Service die ganze Zeit über nicht zu sehen und es hat auch ewig gedauert, bis wir dann endlich die Bestellung bekamen. Noch länger hat es gedauert, bis wir endlich Zahlen konnten. Bzw. bin ich auch hier dann irgendwann genervt zum Zahlen hineingegangen.

Frage, ob alles passt und wie es geschmeckt hat: Fehlanzeige. Vielleicht ahnte die Bedienung auch schon, dass ich mein Mandelhörnchen viel zu trocken und hart fand. Und auch der Käsekuchen hat keine Begeisterungsstürme hervorgerufen.

Einen Cappu würde ich wohl wieder trinken, aber nur wenn ich...

This is a favorite when I'm in Munich. Nice little cafe on the street where you can enjoy sitting outside with a coffee and light lunch. Service is very good but if you only speak English it will help to know a few phrases of German.
