What’s the benefit of having a big family? Apparently, it means you’ll always get good reviews. Otherwise I could not understand the good reviews.

The first impression you get when entering this restaurant is that something’s missing. It seems like they ran out of money before they could afford any proper decoration. The room feels empty and unfinished.

Next, you’re greeted by a rather unmotivated waitress who, in my opinion, reminded me the service at the bakery on a train station. Not friendly, no smile, and absolutely no interest in the guests.

To be fair, the shorter waitress was friendlier — a small but noticeable difference.

But the surprises don’t stop there. As soon as you open the menu, you’d think you’re dining at a high-end Italian place on Brennerstraße. The prices are steep — dishes start at €16, with pasta over €20. It gives off the impression that the owner wants to turn €1 of ingredients into €22 profit.

It’s a shame, really, because you actually look forward to the food — but then comes the next surprise: the food itself.

When ordering fish, no one even offers to prepare it properly. The pizza bread was crispy and tasty — we had the one with tomatoes. But the Spaghetti Marinara were a disappointment: overcooked noodles and ingredients that tasted like they came straight out of a Metro pre-packed bag. The Penne with four cheeses tasted more like Penne with one cheese and a lot of milk.

Toller Italiener mit hervorragenden Essen. Zum Personal: Seit März 2020 hat das Restaurant einen neuen Besitzer und trägt seitdem den Namen „Al Dente“. Der Italiener wird nun auch tatsächlich von einer Italienischen Familie geführt. Gekellnert wird vom Sohn der Familie, welcher überaus freundlich und sehr bemüht ist, den Gästen einen guten Service zu bieten. Der Rest des Personals gehört auch zur Familie. Das Personal ist generell sehr freundlich und äußerst aufmerksam (dazu hernach mehr).

Das Essen: Das Essen ist ein Traum! Egal ob Pizza, Fleisch oder Fisch... enttäuscht wurde ich hier noch nie. Ganz im Gegenteil! Man merkt, dass trotz der großen Auswahl an Gerichten stark auf die Qualität der Zutaten geachtet wird und das schmeckt man auch. Fleisch und Fisch kamen immer auf den Punkt gegart an den Tisch. Die Portionen sind ausreichend. Ich wurde bisher immer satt ;-) Auf Sonderwünsche wird stets reagiert und es werden Empfehlungen gegeben.

Das hat mich besonders beeindruckt: Was mich besonders verblüfft hat, ist die Tatsache, dass sich das Personal Vorlieben seiner Gäste merkt (Was im Bezug auf Allergien ja nicht ganz unwichtig ist). Ich war letzte Woche da und wollte zur Vorspeise die Bruscetta. An diesem Tag kellnerte ausnahmsweise der Vater, nicht wie gewohnt der Sohn. Ohne dass ich etwas sagen musste, wusste er sofort, dass ich keinen Balsmico möchte. Was mich dabei verblüffte? Ich hatte bis dahin noch keine Bruscetta bestellt, sondern nur immer das Carpaccio und das nicht bei ihm, sondern nur bei seinem Sohn. Ich finde das sehr gut, wenn Kellner aufmerksam sind und in diesem Fall ist es die höchste Stufe an Aufmerksam, die es zu erreichen gibt. Hut ab!!!

Das Restaurant: Das Restaurant verfügt über Sitzmöglichkeiten innen und außen, sowie eine Kegelbahn, die aber aufgrund von Corona aktuell nicht in Betrieb ist. Die Atmosphäre ist familiär, herzlich und entspannt.

Ich kann diesen Italiener nur jedem empfehlen, der netten Service und gutes Essen bei gemütlicher Atmosphäre schätzt.
