Roobies Burger & Bar — Restaurant in Munich

The disgusting taste of cheap frozen patties from the supermarket. If you are into that, this place is for you. If you are looking for a place that serves great burgers, don't go there. Instead of creating tasty burger combinations, they'll line up a bunch of different sauces on your table (the cheapest ones from Edeka, of course). The smashburger is a joke and outlines how much they seem to hate burgers at this place. There are tons of videos on the web, how to cook a smashburger - but obviously you can't use the cheap pre-made patty from the supermarket - you need some actual meat. Create a little ball out of the meat. Place it on the grill. And then use a flat surface to smash it. That's why it is called smashburger in the first place! And to top it all off, you'll need a smartphone to access their menu. They only have QR codes on the table, which allow you to access the online menu. If you want to safe some money: Head to your local Edeka and get the cheapest and preferably frozen burger ingredients and you'll be able to easily recreate the burgers served here for a fraction...

Let's start with the best, the service. Bartender/waiter was very attentive, nice and welcoming. Immediately seated us and took our drink order, returned the second we decided what we would eat, sixth sense style:) It's a classic burger joint so don't expect Michelin quality. It is what it is. Burgers were above par, we all tried different types and no complaints. Sides were sweet potato fries, regular fries, chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. Sweet potato fries were perfect, the other side dishes were ok. The place needs an update of interior, it's outdated and a little worn. A week late posting this from my visit but what a great place for a nice beer (Chiemseer) and a super burger! Deceptive from the front as it looks like its just take - away but in the back there’s a small but comfortable area to enjoy the beer and food supplied here and the standard is very good indeed. One guy working on his own when we were there doing both food and bar but as it was very quiet there, he managed perfectly well. Is it worth a visit? Certainly. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip to Munich....
