Turning the old public toilet of Munich in a chic Japanese restaurant is not easy;) but here the work has been done in a fine way! Nice location, can’t imagine how nice will be in summer time with cool vibes and good music outside. But but but ….what is a restaurant without good food? What is a Japanese fine dining without fresh creative food! Shigerusan -the chef- is Japanese, and have lots of experience in his hands. Omakase menu is a jump in getting to know the bulbs of your tongue! The unexpected combination of delicate spices, and acrimonious flavor in combination with amazing row fisch. The salad that warms you up with a touch of truffle oil, and wait…I forgot the crispy starter serve on a plate of with stones…the food is all about exploring, exploding, expanding, joyful! But don’t leave without trying a slice of the gorgeous layered matcha cake homemade by the sweetest Japanese in town: Rena - the chef’s wife;) ….is a family thing;) And please get ready to be kindly served by Tristan…he knows which wines matches with the menu: of course! Get dress and get high! Thank you Shigeru and Rena !!! Go go go!!

Outstanding experience. More that a chef, this cook is an artisan. An artist of the finest cuisine. I ate the “Omakase” menu, and it was delicious. With the Matcha Mille Crêpes for desert, it was enough amount of food. Every single nigiri was perfectly prepared and presented. The fish has its natural taste, something you don’t find in the usual sushi places. The “toro” was particularly tasty. The dishes designed by the chef, more out of the box, were also very tasty. He plays with textures, tastes and colours and the result is great. I enjoy particularly the miso soup cappuccino. Interesting selection of wines. Good Riesling and good sake, of course. I highly recommend sitting at the counter to watch the chef cooking.

A tiny restaurant, run by an amazing chef and his wife. He has developed an eye for delicious food that incorporates local ingredients in innovative ways. This was by far one of the best Japanese food experiences we have had, including in Tokyo, mainly due to the imagination of the chef. For example, we had four different kinds of sashimi with different sauces. One was avocado, one was pumpkin one was cucumber and the final one was a smoky pepper sauce. The sashimi was placed on top of the sauce, rather the reverse. Several different sake choices are available including a delicious one from Nagano and of course Asahi super dry. Absolutely worth a trip even if you are only in Munich for one day.

Although this small building used to be a public toilet (as I was told by the owner) don't worry - the ambience is marvelous, despite it's small size. Staff was very friendly and helpful - we even got the list of wines server when we asked (handwritten - thanks for the effort!). Although the prices are on the higher end I think it's totally worth it! The food was outstanding - chef Shigeru Fujita is doing a fantastic job! Will surely come back for another bigger occasion. Till then!

We had a great dinner at USHI. None of us had heard of the place before but that made it even more special. We ordered the 5-course menu and it was a great choice. All of us agreed that it was the best and most authentic sushi we ever had outside of Japan - everything was just perfectly aligned, from looks to taste to the outstanding service. We really did not have anything to complain about. Place is very cozy and feels extremely special. A true hidden gem!

The omakase is wow! Quality of products is absolutely amazing, flavours are very well balanced and the atmosphere is exactly what you expect from a spot like this. Quiet atmosphere with excellent service. Would be a dream to have “chef’s table” spots, that’s what I’d do next time and suggest to you in case you have a romantic date for example. The place is quite small and intimate. Not very full.
