SunRice - Asian Fusion & Sushi — Restaurant in Neu-Ulm

The food is just “meh” you can get better Asian food almost anywhere else in Ulm or Neu Ulm. I’ve been there 4 times and tried different dishes but it’s always “just ok”. Prices are high for the amount of food you get, but you pay mostly for the atmosphere and the lovely terrace they have. The worst for me is definitely their terrible service. Waiters and waitresses walk around the tables looking away every chance they get to avoid having to look at you and serve. They rather pretend you don’t exist. They never ask if you want anything else, they mess up your order almost every time and insist it is right. They take forever with one simple order, and then proceed to ignore you the rest of the time you’re there so you have to wait very long to order food or to get the check. They won’t even walk you to your table, they just give you the menu at the entrance and ask you to seat yourself. Even when there is literally no one else but you, they will still talk, chill and look at their phones while hanging out at the bar while you seat there at your table waiting for them to look at you so you can order. My husband had to get up and ask them for the check because they abandoned our table for an hour after we had already finished our dinner. the food, service, and place are really nice💛 i love it. The food price is also worth it, the service is very friendly & welcoming. i love the atmosphere its very cozy for a hangout. i tried:

crispy salmon sushi ( salmon, cream cheese, crispy skin) 9/10 the rice has perfect texture, salmon is fresh and the combination is perfect. ive tried several same sushi menu from different restaurant, i love this!

Wild berry 8.5/10 lime, mint, lemon, berry tofu and rice 8/10

the price of food is affordable, but i would say the drinks are a bit expensive in my opinion.

Ich gebe einen Stern für die schöne Location und einen zweiten Stern für den wirklich freundlichen Kellner (der Blonde). Alles andere war schrecklich. Nachdem meine Freundin und ich Platz genommen hatten, warteten wir über eine halbe Stunde, bis sich jemand um uns kümmerte – obwohl wir mehrmals die Hand hoben und die vorbeigehenden, uns ignorierenden Kellner (an dem Tag waren es drei) riefen. Niemand kam zu uns, also ging ich selbst zur Theke und gab unsere Bestellung auf. Diese wurde schließlich nur teilweise gebracht. Meine Freundin bekam ihr Gericht überhaupt nicht, ihre Bestellung wurde einfach ignoriert.

Ich hatte ein Sushi Set mit Thunfisch-Tatar bestellt – stattdessen bekam ich gekochten Thunfisch, den ich nicht esse. Ich lehnte die Bestellung ab, woraufhin man mir sagte, ich würde „falsch denken“ und wenn man frittierte Rolls bestelle, müsse man damit rechnen, dass der Thunfisch mit frittiert wird – was für ein Unsinn! In anderen Restaurants bleibt der Thunfisch trotz Panade roh. Weil das Frittieren nicht so lange dauert, dass der Fisch durchgaren könnte.

Beim Bezahlen wurde das zurückgegebene Set nicht von der Rechnung abgezogen. Die Kellnerin, die uns bediente, verstand nicht, warum wir für ein Gericht nicht zahlen wollten, das wir abgelehnt hatten, und sprach hinter unserem Rücken mit dem Kellner über uns – ohne sich auch nur die Mühe zu machen, ein paar Schritte von uns wegzugehen.
