Being a typical Asian, my expectations for Asian restaurants are usually tempered due to the prevalence of Germanized establishments. However, Kakehashi pleasantly surprised me with its commitment to maintaining authentic Japanese flavors.

The atmosphere upon entering was a blend of modernity and genuine Japanese authenticity, with an interior that struck a perfect balance—neither excessive nor understated. The subdued ambiance, coupled with the open kitchen where the chef worked his magic in real time, transported me to Japan. All the staff, who were Japanese, contributed to creating a quiet and immersive dining experience.

The service at Kakehashi was impeccable. Every eye contact was met with a gentle, natural smile, embodying a high level of hospitality. I felt genuinely cared for and appreciated the faultless service. The smooth and soft tone of their speech added to the overall perfect service experience.

The culinary journey through the special Omakase (7 menus) was a true delight. Each dish showcased gourmet expertise, professionally designed with well-balanced flavors. The silverware and ceramics used were seamlessly harmonized, and the quality of the food moved me. (Attached pictures attest to this!)

While the price might seem on the higher side for a regular dinner, considering the outstanding quality of both the food and service, it becomes more than reasonable.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Kakehashi as the best Japanese fine dining restaurant in Nürnberg, and possibly in Germany, based on my...

We went to have dinner at a Japanese restaurant that had very good reviews. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an older waitress who was very kind and respectful, and she guided us to our table. As we looked at the menu, we saw they offered three options: a 6-course menu, a 2-course menu, and a special 7-course menu. When a younger waitress came to attend to us, we mentioned that we were interested in trying the wagyu beef. She informed us that this dish was included in the special 7-course menu, so we decided to order it. The dishes were served one by one, with good presentation and quality, but we were eagerly anticipating the wagyu beef. When the last course arrived, we asked the waitress about the wagyu beef, and she explained that it was not included in the special menu but had to be ordered separately at a price of €58 per 100 grams. This came as a surprise since she had previously assured us otherwise. When we expressed our confusion, she simply said, "I'm sorry, I made a mistake. If you want to try it, you need to order it separately, and that is the price." Although we ultimately ordered the wagyu beef because we wanted to try it, we found the misunderstanding unacceptable. After paying €86 per person for the special menu, it was frustrating to have been given incorrect information from the beginning. In summary, while the food was of good quality, the customer service left much to be desired, especially for a restaurant of this price range. For this reason, the experience was not satisfying enough for us to...

The best in Germany!

First time to, Nürnberg and My friend recommended this restaurant. To be honest, at first I didn’t have much of an expectation, coming from Asia we have the best Japanese restaurant.

We called in the afternoon and asked if we could have a table this evening, the lady was super nice (I can hear through my husband phone, gigging and polite)

Entered on time, got placed on the bar table, it’s ok since we only made the reservation same time, but got a good view of the chef cooking.

Ordered the Omakase 6 course €58. We thought 6 courses are enough for us.

Chef was super clean and organize, you can see he is calm and precise! Detailed minded! Waitress were so responsive and attentive, explain the food very well!

Overall the experience was perfect, I don’t easily say perfect since we go to good restaurants so often, but with the price and value, hands down to this Japanese restaurant for sure!! They deserve to be successful!

They are so polite, so sincere, smile from their heart, hard working people, and most of all, the food was amazing!!

Need to go back when we visit...
