Le Virage — Restaurant in Nuremberg

My bf and I went to this restaurant to enjoy a pleasent French dinner together. The restaurant is very small, but this is not a critic, it's an added value. The environment is cosy and warm, we had the feeling to be at the owners home. The woman who served us was very polite, smiley and nice. The food was well balanced, the plates were all tasty and we enjoyed them. There has been just a couple of things that we didn't fully like. For examples, we had two different sizes of wine glasses, we had some problem in choosing the bottle of wine (after the tasting my bf didn't like it, the waitress said That there was no problem, we could go by the glasses and she was coming to fill it up when it was over) but without asking if maybe we wanted to change wine. We then paid just for a glass each, which was very honest from them, but a bit weird the situation during the service. Last thing.. There are no allergens indicated on the menu, we don't have any allergy, so for us is no problem. But is always good to specify them.

I was really excited to visit the restaurant because it is recommended in the michelin guide, but I was disappointed. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is cozy, those points were good. Is a fine dining restaurant so you have menu options according to the local and seasonal ingredients which is always nice. The food had a really not so good rhythm but it can be that there are not enough people in the kitchen, I don't know, I was honestly not prepared to spend more than 2:30 hrs for a 3 course dinner. About the actual dishes, the best was the dessert, simple but nice. The cheese selection was also nice. The entré was not so good seasoned but both main dishes we ordered were really not what we expected. We had duck with vegetables and a crepe with rabbit and for both the main problem we had was with the sauces which sadly tasted like cafeteria, which was sad for us that were really excited about the place.

Ambiente Es ist ein wirklich kleines, aber sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht und urig was wir persönlich sehr schön finden. Es hängen Bilder an der Wand, bei denen man merkt, dass sich jemand Gedanken gemacht hat, damit die Gäste etwas zum grübeln haben. Die Toiletten sind sauber, darauf achte ich immer besonders. Außen ist es ebenfalls einladend dekoriert.

Service Sehr herzlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Auch die Frage nach unserem 3. Gang, ob wir vielleicht nur ein 4. Gang zusammen nehmen möchten empfanden wir als sehr sympathisch, da wir tatsächlich schon etwas am kämpfen waren bei den Portionen.

Essen Das Essen war fantastisch. Sehr schön angerichtet und toll abgeschmeckt. Egal ob Fisch, Fleisch oder Nachspeise, wir waren begeistert und es war jeden Cent wert. Besonders toll fanden wir, dass der Koch beim servieren von jedem Gang einmal kurz raus geschaut hat um die Reaktionen der Gäste zu begutachten. Das heißt aus meiner Sicht, dass ihm viel daran liegt und damit auch Herz in den Gerichten steckt. Die Portionen sind üppig und es geht keiner hungrig heim im Gegensatz zu manchen Schickimicki Restaurants.
