Amazing food and beer, terrible service.

My Lüdder burger and my father's beer-marinated pork was absolutely amazing, but my mother's cutlet (I believe it was a cutlet) was as tough to chew as an Italian, hand made, leather shoe sole.

This wouldn't be problem, if the waiters had checked up on us, so they could cook her a new one, but they didn't.

So my mother only got to enjoy her side and salat, as my father and I gorged ourselves on our food.

When our waiter finally came to take our plates and get our bill, after we had waited for quite a while, he asked how the food had tasted. We praised the food and told him about the cutlet. It was quite clear that it wasn't good, as only two small cuts into the cutlet had been made.

The waiter very clearly didn't care as he didn't apologise for it, or tried to make up for it by giving a discount, it didn't even seemed like he listened.

The only good bit of service was the nice server who refilled our beer glasses (we had sat for about 40 minutes before we our food, we had emptied our glasses before then - this was because of a mix of an emergency of my mother's and our waiter being subpar and letting us wait for much too long). She was very nice and golly.

So all our food would have been scrumptious, had a server just checked up on us, so the cutlet could have...

Although we were originally told we needed a reservation, which was done very impolitely, Jenny told us if we wouldn't mind waiting, a table without future reservations world free up. Jenny was also our server and although the restaurant was full, she and the other wait staff did an amazing job. I had a chicken burger which was excellent! Others in my group had a salad, kassler and wurst salad. All were good and large portions. The only complaint was that the beer offerings were quite minimal and the one we ordered was quite bitter. Make sure you make reservations, especially...

Great brew house with traditional copper stills on show. Nicely set out dining areas. Excellent service and food. We went in two occasions. The wheat beer is really good. The pork knuckle was huge as was the tafelspitz. At lunchtime we had the vegetable pizza which was very different, no traditional pizza base, rosti potato base, topped with a ratatouille of vegetables. Very good. Husband had the solyanka soup which was a thick sour vegetable broth and delicious. Wished I had ordered it instead of the pizza it was so tasty....

Decided to pop in on the off chance they had a table for two. We sat in the gallery which was nice. The food was really good - portion was big, tasty, and just what I was hoping for. The wait staff were friendly and helpful even though it was busy with lots of tables to serve. Food was on the table 15mins after we ordered. I can't wait to come back and bring friends! Note - we came on a week day after the Christmas markets had closed for the year. Probably a bit different if it is a weekend or during high tourist season.

Incredibly attentive and friendly staff. Speedy service and really good food and drink. The food far exceeded my expectations and the vegetarian options were fantastic, I would recommend the Kartoffelpizza! I liked also their seasonal beers available in certain months of the year. Very dog-friendly too. Beautiful setting, great atmosphere and would really recommend. I hope to be back one day :)

So macht Essen gehen Spaß!
