Cafe Central Rostock — Restaurant in Rostock

Nice spot, food so so. Ordered cappuccino and eggs Benedict . Cappuccino was clearly way too weak, probably because of an ill regulated coffee machine. When after 25 minutes the EggsBenedict came it was clear that’s the cook doesn’t know the first thing about this recipe. Eggs should be poached and runny preferably, on a English muffin doused with hollandaise sauce. Eggs were hard boiled (!!) and the hollandaise sauce seem to come out of a jar as did the honey mustard dressing (what is that doing there?) on the salad. Food is average at best (I do a considerable amount of cooking myself, so my taste might be biased. I also visit a lot of restaurants.), but the worst part is the speed of service. Probably the slowest service (without warning from the staff) for the least complex food (it´s fried eggs) in this town relatively.

Timeline: Arrived at 11:57 for a 12:00 reservation. 12:20 we were sat down 12:30 is when we received the order menus which we completed in 5 minutes 12:50 coffee arrives 13:15 food arrives 13:15 a second coffee is ordered, but doesn´t arrive until 13:50 and we had to remind the staff to bring it 13:55 we left

IMO that´s way to long for...

We ordered egg benedict and Avocado Toast (Poached eggs). Eggs in both of them were hard boiled instead of how it should be in poached eggs. The waiter accepted it gracefully and promised to get new ones. It’s a pity that even the new ones didn’t have proper form of eggs. I really think, the chef needs to get it right or the cafe takes these dishes (with poached eggs) off the menu. We were quite disappointed.
