Cafe Franzl — Restaurant in Rottach-Egern

This cafe had been on my list for a long time and I finally had the chance to try it out - unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The waitress (I think she was the owner) was very unfriendly - we wanted to have a look at the cakes but weren’t allowed to do so since there were people sitting at the table in front of the Vitrine and were asked to order from the menu. But I realised that was a mistake as soon as my vegan cake arrived because it looked extremely dry and I would‘ve never ordered it, if I had had the chance to look at the cake-selection! My friend‘s cheese cake on the other hand looked appetising but was apparently quite tasteless. Even when we asked for the bill, the waitress/owner was quite unfriendly. So we ended up paying „Tegernseer-prices“ for disappointing cakes and unfriendly service - won’t...

I had a fantastic experience at this café near Tegernsee(Rottach-Egern). The lakeside view from the sit-out area is stunning, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a coffee. The prices are great for such a prime location, and the restaurant itself is charming and beautifully designed.

What really stood out was how clean everything was—especially the toilets, which were spotless and even had scented candles! It’s the little touches like this that make the place special.

Highly recommend if you visit tegernsee, take a boat ride, stop at Rottach-Egern, enjoy the view from this...

Normalerweise nehme ich mir keine Zeit für unhöfliche und schlecht gelaunte Menschen. Hier muss ich meine Erfahrung jedoch teilen. Wir waren am 31.12 da und haben im Cafe nach einem Platz für 2 Personen plus Baby gefragt. Im Cafe war nur ein Tisch belegt. (Bei vollem Cafe hätten wir den Kinderwagen natürlich vor der Tür gelassen) Wir fragten ob wir den Tisch im Eck nehmen könnten, da der Kinderwagen da keinen stört und Platz hat. Die Bedienung meinte etwas genervt "ja wenn sie meinen, dass Sie da Platz hätten" Worauf ich sagte "wir sind ja schlank":) das hat die Dame glaube ich , vor lauter Unfreundlichkeit, nicht recht verstanden und sagte schlecht gelaunt "aber nur wenn sie mit dem Kinderwagen nichts kaputt machen"! Fazit: bei so viel Freundlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft bleibt mir nur mein Geld woanders auszugeben! Wenn man keine Lust auf Gäste hat, sollte man nicht in der Gastronomie arbeiten bzw. ein Cafe...
