This restaurant serves the absolute best food that I have eaten in all of Germany! The owner was very nice and went to every table and genuinely asked about each person’s experience. It was nice to see that he cares. He is the greatest! The view, whether inside or outside, is amazing! The restaurant is perched on the lake with panoramic intimate views of Lake Tegernsee and the mountains. The ambience is energetic and welcoming. The captivating decor and smart layout usher in good vibes & incomparable pizzazz. It is easily recognizable that the staff love making and serving delicious food while creating the best atmosphere. The menus is perfectly curated and is always exciting because it changes often and offers food choices that can’t be found anywhere else. In just two days I have tried so many things in Haubentaucher including the lamb, steak, appetizers, dessert, cappuccino, salad and I have enjoyed every bite! Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant. Thanks Lois! You made my stay in Tergensee unforgettable with your hospitality. You should be so proud as the owner of Haubentaucher. Wonderful service Sven and Timmy! And to the chef…the one and only Dr. Gonzo! I salute you sir! The steak you served me today was the most flavorful and tender! Oh my gosh! You did it again Dr. Gonzo! People do yourself a favor run, don’t walk, but run to Haubentaucher and try the lamb! It’s like no other! Matter of fact, try anything they serve, you will be so glad you did.

We have traveled from New Zealand to visit Tegensee and stopped after the long walk around the lake to have something to drink at your restaurant. We were told that the tables were reserved and that we had to take our drinks to the park bench outside the restaurant and return the glassware once we were finished. We were made to feel like second class citizens. Whilst we sat outside not one person sat down at the tables behind us the whole time. There is no need to treat tourists like this. We have traveled around Europe through 7 countries and have not been exposed to this treatment. Would not recommend! 18.07.23 - I can see the response but this is not correct. None of the tables were reserved. We were made to sit outside because we only wanted something to drink and not something to eat and drink. It is always best to be honest that you in fact you don't welcome guests to only have something to drink and sit at the table. It doesn't alter the way you treat tourists and it isn't acceptable. In New Zealand you are welcome to sit at a table to have something to drink or both as we value tourists. You should visit and see for yourself.

Michelin star food in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We had lunch outside on a sunny September day with views of the lake. Service was friendly and down to earth, and the food was stellar. Had curry-coconut soup with cilantro; a pasta with ham, arugula, and a form of cabbage; and a buttermilk cake - all spectacular and priced very fairly. Definitely recommended!

Mittags mal eben gut essen gehen.

Sehr...
