I can't praise this restaurant enough! We stayed for 3 nights in Schönau am Königssee, and for our first dinner, we chose this restaurant because it offers a diverse cuisine - from outstanding pizzas, to excellent goulash soup, to dishes close to our Balkan heart (ražnjići, cevapi, pljeskavica) or Wiener schnitzel - and then, for every break with coffee and cakes after a long walk through this beautiful area, and for every dinner, we chose this restaurant. It was Easter and the restaurant was full, but despite that, the service was fast and professional, which is another reason why we preferred to sit here rather than in one of the restaurants closer to the lake, which were somewhat off-puttingly touristy. Pizzeria Lago offered a very nice relaxed atmosphere; during the day, we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view. I highly recommend it to everyone. We will definitely return to Schönau am Königssee, and I'm sure our first meal will be right here! All praise to the...
Read moreI wish I could review the food. Or even a drink. Sadly however, we waited 5 minutes to even be seated. My wife and sleeping one year old waited a further 20 minutes to order even a drink. No service. Another table of four people arrived. Ordered straight away. If it had been busy, ok. A table could be missed. But there were only two other tables there when we arrived. One of which was waiting to pay having finished. The saying goes, you can’t complain about the service if there isn’t any to complain about..... such a shame. Looked like a quality place but 25 minutes to not even order a single drink, is not ok..... especially when it or is a quiet afternoon and the staff find time to stand and have a good chat.... we walked out having experienced nothing except a...
Read moreDont go here with kids or as a non-German. After waiting to get seated for five to ten minutes we waited for more than half an hour but no one came to ask for our order, even though we politely signalled that we would like to order. The place was not busy (+/- 15 tables) with 5-6 staff walking around. Cleaning up was apparently more important than taking orders. Very disappointed we left with two very hungry 2 and a half year old, at eight o clock.
If you are in Schönau and crave for pizza please consider going to San Giorgio, Il Calabrese or the three other pizzerias in Bergtesgaden one village...
