We recently dined at this pizza place, which is known for its emphasis on Neapolitan-style pizza dough. While the pizza crust was undeniably good, I couldn't help but feel a bit let down by everything apart from that.
The pizzas, despite the exquisite dough, didn't quite hit the mark. We ordered two white pizzas, which turned out to be disappointingly bland. To be fair, creating a tasty pizza bianco can be challenging, but these lacked flavor entirely. Because the pizzas were lacking flavor we asked for chili and garlic oil, but unfortunately they didn't have any. For the truffle pizza, which came at a price of 21€ it felt like there wasn't an ample amount of truffle on it to justify the cost.
On a subsequent visit, we decided to give the tomato-based pizzas a try hoping for a more satisfying experience. While they were better than the white pizzas, they still fell short of the high expectations set by a place advertising itself like this.
Moreover, the pizzas were on the smaller side and didn't fill the entire plate. A bit more attention to shaping, could have made the pizza better in reducing some of the crust to make space for more flavour of the toppings.
What added to the overall disappointment were the prices of beverages, notably the water. At an Italian restaurant, I wouldn't have expected to pay 7€ for 1-liter of water. Also 9€ for a tiny cup of pistachio tiramisu is just unreasonable.
To sum it up, the pizza dough here is undoubtedly a standout feature, but when compared to other Neapolitan-style restaurants, it falls short of the...
Read moreThis Pizzeria is the best crust I've ever had, the flavor is exceptional and immediately stands out. The crumb structure is some of the best I've seen, giving it a fluffy interior and guaranteeing flavor. The char was also excellently executed. While the center was a bit flimsy, overall, the pizza held up in my hand.
The salami didn't command the same level of quality, I felt that they cut corners here. The sauce and cheese were satisfactory. For me, these stand out less on all pizzas and the focus is the crust and toppings.
The arancini was ok but nothing special, I wouldn't recommend it. Same with the tiramisu, however, Ines usually doesn't like tiramisu but she greatly enjoyed this one. And we can't forget to mention the exorbitant prices. 🤷♀️
My final rating is, "I'd recommend Ciao Amore to those who crave excellently prepared crust, however, be ready to pay for it and perhaps not be 100% satisfied. I may return after some time,...
Read moreThe pizza tastes over the average comparing with all other pizza places you can find in Stuttgart. Ordered a capricciosa. The dough was promising but taken out a bit fast so still was not reached to the enough firmness I was expecting, so it was a bit soggy… but I am in need of stressing on that once again: for stuttgart standards it is a good quality dough. The ingredients are shining and no doubt on their freshness. They use good quality products for sure. They serve Pepsi for your information “the real” soda lovers. It’s a minus from my perspective, sorry! :’)
Ambient is a bit overdrawn, I was expecting a bit more chill and “italian pizzeria” atmosphere but it is a bit far from that.
Employees are nice and kind, they smile all the time and they are damn fast. That’s cool, like it the most.
I will give another shot when I find a chance and see if any change occurs, in a...
