Historische Weinstube Forelle — Restaurant in Tübingen

Was there two times. The food is very delicious. But the service is very unfortunate: the waitress was always on a serious face and don't make people feel like welcomed at all. What a waste of food.

Since the owner replied, I am gonna give more details about it.

First I was there TWO times, the food was amazing at the first time but we were a bit late (around 1PM). The waitress kinda gave a message that you have to order very quickly and the whole process she was on her poker face as if we are delaying her working hours. But the food was nice, so we didn't care that much.

And since the food was nice, we came for a second time with another two colleagues, one of them felt ill after climbing the "hill" in Tubingen, and she just wanted to take some rest for like 5-10 minutes. And the same waitress was like either we call an ambulence or you sit up (you are not allowed to rest here). So we chose to leave and paid the things that have been served. I am not sure if this can happen if we are German or white. Honestly we felt a bit discriminated after this. It made no sense to argue with her given our friend is not feeling so well. So we left, but we have to speak out that we were treated very badly. She should be telling this in a more kind and soft way, but during the whole thing she was with her poker face again... I am now asking for a apology since you can already see the reply and you haven't realized your misbehavior.

I went there with my parents and my partner, and it was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, but what was just as important was how gracious the our waitress was. I am from the US, and my parents are Chinese-Americans who speak no German, and our waitress was patient, and thoughtful, and very polite, and after a few days on haughty French service, it was such a relief to be treated so politely. It was my second visit, and I believe this restaurant will become a tradition when my parents...

Mein Mann hatte hier reserviert. Der Service war unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir waren zu viert. Es gab 2x Rostbraten, leider ziemlich salzlos, dem konnte man ja mit dem Salzstreuer abhelfen, dies war bei der Soße leider zwecklos. Die Spätzle waren gut und hatten einen guten Muskat Geschmack. 1x wurden die Knödel mit Rotkraut und Pilzen bestellt. Das Gericht war auch etwas ungewürzt. Mein Salat war geschmacklich sensationell! Sensationell war auch die Größe... für 15€ hätte ich mehr erwartet, das habe ich auch freundlich kommuniziert. Egal wo ich in Tübingen Salat bestellt habe, hatte ich eine ordentliche Portion auf dem Teller. Und das war ja kein Beilagensalat, sondern als Vorspeise oder Zwischengang deklariert. Das war schon frech für diesen Preis! Uns ist dann die Lust auf ein Dessert vergangen und ich habe uns zu Hause Pfannkuchen gemacht. Was auch der Kracher war, dass unter unserem Fenster 2 Stühle für Raucher standen, was bei ordentlichen Fenstern vielleicht ok ist, aber ich nehme mal an, dass das Gebäude denkmalgeschützt ist und das geht gar nicht, dass beim Essen Rauch zu riechen ist! Ich muss noch dazu sagen, dass es der zweite Weihnachtsfeiertag und wahrscheinlich eine abgespeckte Version der normalen...
