Didi — Restaurant in Ulm

This is from my personal point of view as an Asian chef myself:

I went there for lunch for the first time and I must say I was disappointed with the salmon sushi. First of all, I didn’t get the food that look anything like most reviews (with dry ice and nice decorative plate… to me it doesn’t matter much but keep in mind that you are a restaurant, the food should be served similarly and equally)

Instead I got a lousy sushi plate that looks like Chinese take away style sushi with a very dry salmon (it looks like it has been cut since this morning— I consult get that well on the photo but in reality it was really dry. It looks like dried smoked salmon 😅 ) Even ‘eat happy sushi’ has a better quality than what I’ve got today.

The edge of salmon cut was visibly dried.. the taste wasn’t so good. For 38€ I expect fresher ingredients or at least freshly prepared not something that has been sitting on the shelves for god knows how long.

The restaurant was really quiet for lunch time. That should be my first clue.

After we finished, the older man came to collect our plates so quickly it felt almost like a rush for us to leave even though we were the only 1 from 2 tables that dine there at the time. (It’s basically empty)

The atmosphere was okay, they open the window today for some fresh air but sadly it attract flies. So we have to eat while trying to chase away the flies. Which to me seems unhygienic. I would suggest install a glass door at the entrance and install a mesh screen on all windows.

I had such a high hope, what a shame. The restaurant was so beautifully decorated and seems like it...

The restaurant is found inside of the Xinedome building complex, where Burger Heart used to be. I did not have high expectations as most visitors seem to be cinema guests, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is very tidy and well decorated. There is a wide choice of food and everything is well presented. We were served quickly and there was no issue with card payment. Food arrived relatively fast and the staff was very polite. It was the best duck breast I have ever eaten, not under or overcooked, with amazing flavour. The peanut and coconut sauce was delicious. All vegetables were very fresh and perfectly prepared. Both drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, but still enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try...

The food was absolutely outstanding! From the poke bowl to the soups and summer rolls, every dish was spot-on. They certainly have a talent for crafting delicious meals. Additionally, the two drinks, Dragon Ball and Red Moon, were incredibly tasty; a definite must-try. The only aspect I'd consider adjusting is the service. While the front door service was pleasant, the person who took our order seemed a bit fatigued. There was a lack of the usual welcoming gestures, such as asking if it was our first visit or inquiring about our day. It would have been nice to have a more engaging interaction. but it might be understandable since we arrived around 9:30 pm, close to their 11 pm closing time. I'll definitely...
