Spring is approaching &, if you are planning to visit Peenemunde in North Eastern Germany, Cafe & Pension Am Deich.would no doubt be a great choice. My wife and I were very pleased with the establishment, especially the consideration & professionalism of the staffs. ||||On our visit last October, we were very impressed and pleased by the fact that Silvio, the owner's son, would come to pick us up around 7:00 p.,m. at the tiny Peenemunde train station. As the night was quite dark and as there was no taxi available, it would be quite difficult for us to find the Cafe and Silvio surely saved our day, especially after a long and many connecting train ride from Salzburg, Austria. ||||We found the room quite large, very clean and much accomodating with comfortable beds as well as plenty of hot water. The Cafe also served a good breakfast with cold cuts, vegetables, cheese as well as hard boiled eggs for 9 Euros. The Cafe offered many kinds of coffee and the ones that we had tried were just excellent as advertised in the menu.||||All in all, Cafe & Pension Am Deich would be a great choice to stay if you would like to see the historic V1 & V2 Rocket site in Peenemunde or to do some sport fishing at the...

We chose this pension because of the good reviews on this site. but our experience exceeded our expectations. Our room was sparklingly clean, comfortable and quiet. There is off-road parking and the pension is within walking distance of the Russian submarine museum and the Peenemunde Museum. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh with the selection of fresh rolls accompanied by hams, cheeses and sausage. There was also a variety of jams and preserves. We were offered a choice of various teas or coffee. We never managed to finish all that we were offered.||Free internet connection is included for guests and it is here that I must say we experienced immense kindness from the host and his family. When we experienced difficulties getting online the owner tried to help, then called his son who arrived straight from work to help us. The kindness we were shown by the whole family impressed us and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Café-Pension Am Deich.
