Miss Saigon — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Konstanz

The food here is freshly prepared, and it's cheap. Plus, the ambiance is nice and friendly, definitely a notch above the "typical asian takeout" restaurant, if there is such a thing. So far so good. However, the dishes are not very authentic, most of the fresh herbs and spices which are the hallmark of the wonderful vietnamese cuisine are missing, the food here is bland and uninspired. What you get seems to match exactly so many other mediocre vietnamese restaurants which can be found all over Europe. One more star for the nice interior with beautiful large windows and another one for the friendly service. But the food alone, one star ... even the cheapest streetfood in Vietnam tastes a lot better, sorry! I know the owners know I have a point, but they will say "well, this is what our customers want". True, but your customer is the one who wants cheap, fresh food - not the one who wants good, fresh food. If you would offer authentic, good, fresh and tasty food - the food you know as well from your country - you would have other, more generous customers and probably make a lot more money in the process. Bei uns, überhaupt nicht gut.

Vier Gerichte bestellt. Vegetarische Frühlingsrollen, Sommerrollen (Nr. 19), Reis mit Tofu und Erdnusssauce, und ein Eis (drei Eissorten mit Sahne, oä).

Vegetarische Frühlingsrollen waren ok, wenn auch etwas schwach im Geschmack (auch die Sauce süß-sauer). Die Sommerrollen waren außen zäh und innen teils sehr hart (habe ich aber für meine Frau, welche dies bestellt hatte aufessen können). Das Reisgericht war nicht lecker und das erste Gericht was ich in einem Restaurant habe stehen lassen. Der Reis war leicht verkocht und dennoch minimal angetrocknet, die Sauce schmeckt leicht seltsam aber auch etwas nach Erdnuss und irgendetwas vom Gemüse war unerwartet stark bitter. Das Eis habe ich nicht probiert, da es meine Frau bestellt hatte, aber sie fand es furchtbar und beschrieb da Kokosnusseis als besonders eigenartig im Geschmack.

Vielleicht hatten wir auch einfach nur Pech wenn man die anderen Rezensionen liest, aber wir würden hier nicht noch einmal essen.

Diese Restaurant am Döbele gelegen ist wirklich ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Die Preise sind billig (10€ für eine große Ente) die Portionen groß und der Geschmack auch echt gut! In diesem vietnamesischen Restaurant ist der Service außerdem wirklich grandios! Wir schauten die Kellnerin einmal an und sie kam direkt zu uns und fragte ob wir etwas wollten. Das Personal ist außerdem auch sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Restaurant an sich ist echt schön eingerichtet und zb die Toiletten sind auch echt akzeptabel! Ich habe mir schon ein paar Dokus über asiatische Restaurants angeschaut und weiß dass dahinter schon ordentlich am Preis gespart wird.(10€) Man merkt allerdings keinen Qualitätsunterschiede im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants. Insgesamt würde ich jedem dieses Restauarant empfehlen und auch wenn man nicht sehr viel Geld hat kann man hier trotzdem ein leckeres...
