Review of the vegetarian menu: Great menu with many (clearly marked) options for lacto-ovo-vegetarians: flammenkuche, spätzle and rösti.
I had the rösti with mushrooms, edamer and leek. The grated and fried potatoes were perfectly crispy and salty. The topping was creamy and cheesy as a nice contrast. The only (small) downside was that my dish possibly was a tad too greasy. But it was on the other hand very satisfying and filling.
My company ordered the flammenkuchen with chilies. It was not as flavourful and filling as my dish was. The dough was razor thin - almost like philo pastry, which we both liked. There wasn’t much cheese on, so the main flavours were dough, creme fraiche and chilli. Not bad, but nothing spectacular.
We both also ordered a small starter salad and apfelstrudel for dessert. The starter salad was a pretty random selection of lettuce, sauerkraut, white cabbage, carrots and a light creamy dressing. Would probably not order it again. The apfelstrudel was nice, but not as flaky as I would have liked it to be. Would still order it again though.
The service was quick and attentive.

Read moreWe came to dinner on Monday, April 7th, barely seated, our drinks order was taken, almost five euros for a Coke without bubbles and not even in a bottle or a can, the order for the dishes was taken immediately more than an hour later, still no dish on the horizon even though we didn't order a starter, just two pasta dishes, the restaurant being quite empty in addition. the tables that arrived just after us were in the same state as us, dejected, waiting for our dishes without necessarily having any information or anything. The dish is good, but unfortunately does not make up for the experience, the most problematic being the wait and the fact of paying five euros for a Coke that is not even in a can or a bottle, I find that scandalous. we had the impression of being taken hostage because the drinks were already ordered and the dishes already launched in the kitchen, we would have happily...
Read moreThis cosy restaurant was such a delight! My sister and I stopped by for a last minute late dinner and left feeling very pleased with our decisions. To drink we tried the spãtburgunder (rot), a local red wine which we both agreed was absolutely delicious (for the wine alone we will be back)! We thoroughly enjoyed the Schwarzwälder Kartoffelsuppe, a black forest potato soup served with wiener sausages. And for main I couldn't recommend more the Späzel-pfanne à la crème - egg noodles with a creamy mushroom sauce served with schweineschnitzel. The flavours and textures in this dish were perfectly balanced and complemented the wine beautifully. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. He spoke with us in English but it must be noted there is no English menu (we used a translation app). For anyone travelling to Offenburg I would highly recommend dinning here. Our experience was definetly...
