À La Lune Restaurant & Café — Restaurant in Accra

I recently visited this newly opened restaurant after hearing great things about their food. I went with a friend to give it a try, and we were lucky enough to be served by Joe, a super sweet and helpful waiter. Big shoutout to Joe for making our experience better! We ordered the surf & turf and the pork with sautéed vegetables. However, we had to wait over an hour for the food, and to make matters worse, no nibbles or appetizers were offered during the wait. Joe mentioned that the delay was due to the pork, which we understood, but it was still a bit frustrating. When the food finally arrived, the beef in the surf & turf was incredibly tender and cooked just right. The pork was well-seasoned, but unfortunately, it was mostly fatty, which was a bit of a letdown. The sautéed vegetables were tasty, though the variety was lacking—just small bits of red cabbage, carrots, green bell peppers, and onions. We also ordered red wine to pair with our meal, but instead of a proper glass, they served what looked like a shot of wine in a regular glass. When we questioned it, a sommelier named Charles came over and insisted it was dessert wine, and that’s how it’s typically served. He wasn’t apologetic or understanding when we turned it down, which definitely took away from the experience. The restaurant itself has an upstairs seating area and outdoor spaces, which could be nice for a more relaxed vibe. A la Lune is undeniably a charming spot. From the moment you arrive, the ambience pulls you in, warm lighting, thoughtful decor, and a serene vibe that makes it feel like a perfect escape. Whether you're seated in their cozy indoor area or the beautifully set outdoor patio, it's clear that this place was designed with romance in mind. It’s definitely ideal for a date night or a special evening out.

However, while the atmosphere exceeded my expectations, the food unfortunately did not. Given the setting, I had high hopes for the menu but the dishes were just okay. Not bad, but not memorable either. It felt like the kind of food you'd expect from a much more casual spot, not one with such an elevated presentation.

That said, the service was pleasant, and the experience overall was still enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to impress someone with aesthetics and mood, A la Lune is a great choice. Just don’t go in expecting a...

It’s was my friend’s birthday so I saw this place on IG and we decided to make this place our location for the birthday celebration and it was the right choice, from the ambience of the place to location of the place and the food was 10/10 and the drinks too 10/10 ,both my friends Nana Ama the birthday girl and Ellen had the seafood past and the chicken l’orange and I had the Grilled grouper and it was so satisfying and delicious too which I personally think the price is okay and our waiter LOT was helpful too.
