It is telling that all these reviews are from years ago. We previously went to Sky Bar Accra in 2023 and we had a great evening, good food, drinks and service. Fast forward just 2 years later and in a group of 7 we can all confirm we had one of the worse evenings in a bar ever. As soon as we arrived we were looked up and down, and then the concierge was so rude and unwelcoming that we wanted to leave immediately, although we decided to give it a chance. Even though we had booked, we were told there were no seats reserved for us, and we would have to pay 3000 cedis but would get 2 bottles of wine with this. Once we were seated the service was very slow and it took a while to get the wine, so at this point we decided to leave and try a different bar. This is when things got really bad. On the way out, not all of us could fit in the lift so a couple of us got out, to wait for the next one. As my Aunt got out, her dress caught on fire by one of the lit candles that was left on the entrance hall floor unprotected (there were about 8 candles dotted on the floor). It was a nightmare, as my Aunt was turning around and I was helping to batter her dress to put the fire out, the dress nearly caught on fire with the other candles on the floor. None of the bar staff came to help. Eventually we managed to put the fire out, but my Aunt’s hand was burnt (luckily no other parts of her body), and her dress was destroyed. When I spoke to the concierge, her response was “why is it our fault?”, of course I pointed out it was a complete fire hazard to have unprotect lit flames on the floor of a public building with paying customers coming in and out of the foyer. I then spoke to the Manager, he went pale when I told him and said he would go and look at the video (why his staff had not already told him is a mystery to me, this should be any bar’s nightmare). Then after investigation, I spoke to him and explained that we would also be expecting our money back, the manger’s response was “why, you drank the wine.” This is completely missing the point, no customer should expect to leave a premises with a burnt hand and dress. To make matters worse, the concierge and another member of staff were laughing obviously about the situation in front of my aunt and myself. How would they like it if they had been set on fire. Since then we have sent messages to the manager to ask for a formal apology from the owner and some compensation for the dress, we receive one message from the manager, saying that we could come back for a night and get 2 bottles of wine, but of course none of us ever want to return to that bar. Then the manager just ignored our messages, we have never heard from the owner at all. So my message to you all, is don’t bother going at all, it’s time has well and truly past. The bar is completely overpriced, the service is slow and poor, the concierge is the most unwelcoming person in the world and worst of all, you may get burnt and receive no apology. It deserves no stars. There are so many better places to go in Accra, such as Kozo just around the corner. Where prices are reasonable and staff are so welcoming, friendly...

Sky Bar 25 Restaurant and Bar in Accra is often hyped as one of the city’s top spots, so naturally, I wanted to check it out on the day I arrived in Accra. However, my experience didn’t quite live up to the expectations. Here’s a detailed breakdown:

Reservations Required

One of the first things to note is that Sky Bar 25 strictly requires reservations. I wasn’t aware of this beforehand, so when I arrived, I was told I couldn’t be seated right away. After some waiting and negotiation, they finally found a table for me—but it was far from the coveted views the restaurant is known for. When I asked if I could switch to one of the empty tables with a view, I was told they were reserved. Fair enough, but here’s the kicker: those “reserved” tables stayed empty for the entire four hours I spent there until the restaurant closed. This left me wondering about their reservation system and why they couldn’t accommodate paying customers when the opportunity was clearly there.

Food: Underwhelming and Overpriced

The food was another disappointment. For a place with such a reputation, I expected something special. Unfortunately, the dishes didn’t live up to the hype. The portions were incredibly small, especially considering the exorbitant prices. I don’t mind paying a premium for quality, but when the flavors are average at best, it leaves you feeling like you didn’t get your money’s worth. The menu is presented as gourmet, but the execution fell short in both taste and value.

The View: The Only Redeeming Factor

The one thing that does stand out about Sky Bar 25 is the view. Sitting high above Accra, the panoramic sights of the city are truly breathtaking. It’s the kind of place where you’d want to sip a cocktail and soak in the skyline. If you do manage to get a table with a view, it could transform the experience entirely. Unfortunately for me, that wasn’t the case, but I could still appreciate the beauty from a distance.

Overall Experience

While Sky Bar 25 may be worth a visit for the views alone, the overall experience left me unimpressed. The food was overpriced and underwhelming, the reservation system felt overly rigid, and the service didn’t make up for the gaps. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance to secure a good table—otherwise, you might find yourself in the same position I was in, stuck with an ordinary table while prime spots sit empty.

In conclusion, Sky Bar 25 is a place with great potential but falls short on delivering a truly memorable dining experience. Go for the view, but lower your expectations when it comes to the food...

We booked a table for my friends 40th birthday for 1600. we just wanted to have lunch with a view. When we arrived, we were told by security that it was not open yet, so we had to wait outside a gate and felt like prisoners waiting to be released we were standing at and entrance to an underground car park so the sign said no pedestrians so it was not safe if a car was coming Once we were allowed through the big silver gate, it was a lovely walk to the building. The foyer was gorgeous, and the lady at reception was very friendly and advised us it was not open yet, and we explained we had booked a table in advance so this was not a positive start to the birthday celebrations we was told if we arrived after 1615 our booking would be cancelled As we were shown the lift, a young lady came rushing in, and some other ladies smiled, etc

As we went to the top floor, we showed our self around it was a stunning view we took pictures etc of the pool area the made out way back to the bar the lady that was in the lift was the host/receptionionts and apologise for being late etc fine we was not too bother just excited to be there

We were the only guests and were told we could not sit in the first seat. we sat as it was reserved, and we sat where we were told . It took so long for the staff to ask if we wanted a drink we ordered food whilst waiting we asked to be reseated as there was less than 10 guest in total and we only went to watch the sunset They kindly moved us to the side where the sun was settling

It was, of course, windy, but they had nothing to hold down tissue so it was blowing everywhere we had to keep catching the attention of the waiter even though it was not busy they had 5 bob marley song on repeat and I nearly thought i would come out never waiting to hear bob marley again but than God I do

the signature had amazing service. Even though it is smaller and busy, there is definitely more of a vibe

I do not think return back to the sky bar for food due to the poor service we received on what was supposed to a planned special occasion. The food was 4/10 just...

Very much overrated. With the exception of the breathtaking view of the city, everything was mediocre at best. The doorman at the entrance of the building was rude and aggressive. Thankfully, the doorman on the rooftop was more polite and apologetic. Our waitress, Emelia, was polite and professional but the food wasn’t anything to rave about. My dinner partner ordered cocktails; the first martini came out hot and the second was weak. To avoid that mess, I opted to order a bottle of RosĂ© (which wasn’t sparkling 😒). The crime brĂ»lĂ©e was ruined due to their need for creativity as it was lemon grass infused
. I mean, why would you need to modify crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e???? Lastly, the doorman on the roof mentioned that Fridays had a good vibe and he convinced us to return despite us being so underwhelmed. I then tried to reserve a table. The hostess informed me a deposit of 400 cedis per person was required which was loosely $60 USD for me and my guest. I tried to pay the deposit but was rebuffed by management who stated they don’t accept small bills đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł!!!! When did $20 bills become categorized as “small”??? They also would not accept the $50 because they ONLY accept $100 bills. Needless to say, I happily left without securing a future reservation because of the nonsense. If you want a great photo, please, visit SkyBar. For everything else, there are better options worth exploring.
