A friend told me about this restaurant and I wanted to try it for myself. From afar and in the pictures, it gives fine dining vibes. When you’re on and inside the property the atmosphere is different. I noticed a waitress wearing flip flops and I thought to myself: that’s one hell of a fine dining experience! Faustina waited on us and she was lovely. They first bring you these mini buns with olive dip and another spicy dip. We had the prawn for starters. It was smokey and the bun that was served with the prawns was buttery and soft! Loved it. The addition of parsley elevated the dish. We had mint lemonade (original, amazing) and a mojito (could have been better. There was no taste of mint. Felt like they mixed it and just dropped the mint leaves in there). For mains, we had the salmon with mashed potatoes and we requested a spaghetti Alfredo with shrimp, which the chef was more than happy to make happen for us. The dishes tasted good. But what’s more important is that we tasted hearts on the plates! I give them 10/10 for plating. The colors, the creativity, the flavors.. it all combined so well. The chef meticulously plated those dishes with hearts. It’s definitely a nice touch. They’re pricey yes but when I saw the piece of art on those plates, I thought it was worth it. Read moreI referred my colleagues to visit this place just because it was close to my hotel when I was there on a visit. Then a week later, I was strong armed by said colleagues into going. I am not into the fine dining scene, but I wanted to be a team player. Once seated, I asked for the owner/manager to let him know I recommended my colleagues who were just there the week before, but he snubbed me and stated he does not talk to guests until we are seated and situated. Major disappointment here. Prices are way too high for the lower quality of food. But what bothers me most is the extremely high Service Charges that I am sure the wait staff does not get 100 percent(as the waiters bombarded us at the table; indicative of personal tips wanted vs the rip off service charge to the company first). It is sad to see wait staff being ripped off by owners. In addition, that VAT which is stated to be included per the menu definitely was not included in our food but clearly on the bill. The menu offered a wide variety of options, including a great selection of dishes. I decided to try the WAGYU BEEF TATAKI, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were well balanced and the presentation was beautiful.
The service was top-notch as well. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations. She also was very helpful when I asked about the ingredients and preparation of the dish.
I also have to mention the wine list, which was impressive and had a great selection of local and international wines. I paired my meal with a WHISPERING ANGEL CAVES, and it was a perfect match.
Overall, I highly recommend dining at Bold restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional, and I can't wait to go back and try more...
