This place is actually really nice, staff are friendly and the food is good. We arent local so we thought the price was actually reasonable but thats for each person to make their judgement on. Okay so the food, our little one is a fussy eater and said their pizza was really good, and it does smell and look good. The grilled chicken is delicious, i really cant say a bad word about it, the only thing i would suggest is to remove the chips and maybe add a little more rice. Making it a rice or chips option would be better than both. I found the cheeseburger a little dry but the capitol burger was juicy and definitely worth it. I would still recommend the chicken though. The blueberry milkshake is definitely the best drink there, dont even bother arguing with me about it, thats the one you should get. Little one had the vanilla and enjoyed it but my taste is better 😋 ... My brother had both the Lisa special and the blueberry and agreed the blueberry is the best drink. I also tried the peach milkshake. If you like peaches then you will not be dissapointed. All in all the atmosphere is chilled and relaxed, the service is good and attentive and the portion sizes for dinners are spot on and perfect but i didnt try any pasta dishes. There are only minor things that lowered the score for food and atmosphere and they are personal preferences. We sat inside both times we went there. I would say maybe a few more bug catchers are needed, or a way to close the back for extra bug prevention. Even though there was literally only 1 fly and no mosquitoes and lastly the wiring in the roof should be covered up. I am a bit of a tough critic so 4 stars is still very high in my opinion. Check it out and i hope you also enjoy it the way i and my...
Read moreAltogether good ambience, good food good staff and food is served on time. The only hitch to a good calm dinner here is the drumming and yelling that accompanies every birthday cake being delivered to a celebrant by the staff (and this is a lot of times per sitting) which makes everyone impossible to hear or talk to, very uncomfy moments in Capitol to be honest. This loud interval resounds throughout the entire restaurant, as a matter of fact I heard the first one from the parking lot upon arrival. This very loud drumming and singing session lasts for many deafening minutes per session and its amazing how many birthday celebrants turn up at one sitting, 3 birthday cakes the last I was there within an expanse of 1 hour. I will suggest (on behalf of many others I am sure) that the drumming and yelling(yes a rare and traditional yell from the North of Ghana that I personally delight in culturally but not at Dinner and at that high pitch) be greatly minimized to allow other diners hold conversations and continue other activities in peace with the lovely ambience of the Capitol Cafe and Restaurant upon entering maintained. Kindly work on the volume of the celebratory drumming and fanfare. It could be reduced and everyone would be happy :) Good Restaurant In All. P.S For those who want to know, it is a Non Alcoholic Restaurant. No Alcohol is served but their drinks, shakes and mocktails are great and healthy...
Read moreA really nice little hide out and really popular, constantly customers coming in.
Food was 50/50 I ordered wings with jollof, friend ordered wings with fries and my husband ordered steak. The pepper steak which wasnt good and came with a bbq sauce on top. The side of sauté veg was actually some frozen veg. The wings were delicious and there were 8 large pieces but each portion came with a tiny side of rice and fries. I even asked the waiter if he had made a mistake and he said no this is how it comes. Surely we should have been able to have just one or the other? We were happy to pay more but there were no sides on the menu at all - meals came with specific sides and seemed that there was no flexibility with choice of sides. (Even if we were happy to pay extra)
Service was really slow - my husbands food came a good 20 mins before ours. I told him to start eating after a while so it didn't go cold and he had almost finished by the time mine came out. I was too full to have any desert but I have to admit they looked lovely in the display cabinet.
Please note the menu prices do not include tax - they add the 17.5% tax after. (This.is the first time this has happened to me in Ghana.) Usually menu prices include tax plus sometimes add a service charge which is fine.
Overall it's a nice place but with some work could be great. If I was ever to go again I'd get the wings again and probably...
