I would describe my experience at Ninano as just ok. I think this is stemming from the fact that I am just not used to Korean dishes.
C+ For the food. The food I ordered was manageable. The pork sauce was spicey, but it wasn't that enjoyable for me. The rice didn't seem to contain salt (I like my food salty). But then this is a very subjective score, as it was something very different from what I am used to. The fried dumplings though were nice. The prices of the food are also on the high spectrum.
A+ for the service. The waitress was extremely attentive and went out of her way to explain the various dishes to us and also show us pictures. Excellent service
B+ for location and parking. It can be very tricky to find the entrance to the area. You can easily miss it after which you would have to go round again to make another attempt. Just keep your eyes to the right after the east legon police station, hopefully you don't miss the entrance 😂. Parking is quite ok...there are sufficient slots available.
In all, if you want to have the Korean dish experience, I would recommend you...
Read moreThe sushi was worth it, considering its medium price range and we appreciated the complementary miso soup. Our wasabi wasn't properly grated but that could happen to anyone. My problem was with the wait staff who did not hide the fact that they had issues with the chef. They kept on talking loudly to each other in Twi about how the chef was refusing to speak English at that moment and they did so in a derisive manner. Patrons should not have to hear about any internal squabbles. We ordered a sushi platter and some tuna nigiri on the side. Between three of us, we polished off both. When I say it was affordable, well there were three of us and we spent about 250 in total including drinks. Will definitely be back to satisfy my sushi cravings. Fingers crossed, staff will do better.
Edit: returned and service is much improved. Tried more sushi and kimbap as well as bulgogi. Going...
Read moreI am a 'sushi sceptic' and have wondered what the big deal was.
Here in the most unlikeliest place in East Legon, is the most delicious sushi I have tasted in Accra. Am I exaggerating? Probably. Will you experience a first hand explanation of how to eat sushi and drink good saki? Definitely.
From starter to dessert (well it was pineapple chunks garnished with mint in a glass) that made my meal experience memorable. This place is much more reasonable, tasty food, alcohol is available but the pleasant surprise is Mr Lee offering advice on the choice, ensuring that customers enjoy being there.
This place has just opened and currently it's quiet, I predict that with the right publicity, this place will soon be a very popular sushi restaurant, where reservations will have to be made.
I totally recommend it for a visit or 3, you will not be...
