Tasty Jerk Osu Branch — Restaurant in Accra

I wanted to share our experience at Tasty Jerk Restaurant. We ordered kenkey with pork, chicken, and fried eggs. Unfortunately, there was no tilapia available, and our order got a bit mixed up upon arrival. Additionally, I should mention that the pepper at Tasty Jerk is quite spicy, so it might not be the best choice for those who aren't fans of intense heat. Despite the spice, we found the flavors to be vibrant and satisfying. A heads-up for those with milder taste preferences. Overall, it was a flavorful experience, albeit with a few minor hitches. Despite the hiccup, the overall taste was delightful, and we appreciate their effort. Perhaps they can improve on availability and order accuracy. Still, we enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. NB: The place is not well organized! I requested for a menu and the waitress said they didn’t have one so she had to verbally give me the menu 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️….I didn’t get an official receipt of my bill too, same verbal...

I recently visited this spot for their pork and kenkey, and I must say the taste is quite good. However, the prices are on the higher side, likely due to its location in Osu.

A ball of kenkey here is disappointingly small, about the size of a four-year-old girl's fist, yet it costs ¢5 as of 8th July 2024. In contrast, other places in Osu offer a much larger ball of kenkey for the same price, comparable to the size of Bukom Banku's fist.

Despite the small kenkey portion, the pork is well grilled and lives up to its cost but the pepper accompanied by the kenkey is a mismatch - too hot. Pork lover, been a customer since 2015 from the old location.

Last 4 months has been the worst experience for me in terms of taste and tenderness of pork. I'm better off chewing leather. Been there twice in January 2023. Meat is as tough as hell!! Maybe they changed whoever made the pork.

Was there today. Order number 072, pork only. Will give them 5 months before my next visit. Maybe it will be better by then.

Lastly since they moved to the new location, they always lie about the softness of their Kenkey. So I never buy Kenkey from them....
