This was my 1st time trying vegan Ghanaian food and I cannot believe it took me this long. Every single meal was top notch! The restaurant is in a somewhat quiet residential area and with the bright purple neon signs infront of it, you can't miss it. The staff were very friendly and I even had the opportunity to meet the ever so lovely owner who has been vegan for most of his life and happens to also have another restaurant in London. Covid 19 safety measures were in place and hand sanitizers were also available. For our starters, we went for the 'Kosayi' and Kebab. The Kosayi (Kose) took some getting used to as I'm very familiar with the original taste and texture. I tried it with the sour cream and it was heaven. It complemented it perfectly. The Kebab was quite great too. Grilled veggies with sweet potatoes and tofu. All my favourite things. I wish there were more tofu chunks though. Now my main meal. This is the meal that's made me decide to be vegan for the month of July. I'm so glad I chose the chickpea curry with brown rice because that's going to be my order anytime I'm there. The curry tasted and smelt amazing and the brown rice was way better than I expected. I was extremely pleased with my experience and will definitely...
Read moreWe are so happy that we stumbled upon this place!! It serves 100% plant based food, with traditional west African dishes and others. The owner, Ben Asamani, is a Ghanaian chef who has been incredibly successful with his restaurant in London, England. This past year he decided that he wanted to share his tasty vegan food with his fellow countrymen here in Accra. Tatale has only been open for about about a month, but already they have an amazing vegan menu and a few very loyal customers. We ordered the Tatale Gardens shared plate for two and absolutely loved it. We were so pleased to find this option which allowed us to try so many different dishes. The service was wonderful, our waiter Joshua talked to us about his own journey towards veganism as s Ghanaian and was able to tell us all about the menu, and the owner’s vision. It was so nice to have the opportunity to try local dishes as a vegan. Such s wonderful experience! I really hope more people discover this place and that their success grows. Important note!! The location here on google maps is wrong! It’s just a little bit further down the same street. Thank...
Read moreWe came here for 4 evenings and the food never disappointed! The food was always delicious and even my non-vegan Mum and staunch Ghanaian meat-eating family members who we brought along loved it 😊 The staff were all super friendly (special shout out to Mawli) and the food looked as good as it tasted- and was very reasonably priced (approx. £8-9/pp)
The food also arrived in very good time (tip to all those complaining about poor service: you need to call in advance with your order and give them an estimate of the time you will be arriving- we did this every time and never had to wait more than 15 mins for our food!
Also if there were things that they don’t have on their menu such as the Club Lager or fresh coconut, they go and find it for you! I will miss this place and next time I’m in Ghana, I will definitely come back repeatedly!
Only con i will mention is that the restaurant needs a complete revamp/refresh but that will not stop me from...
