The space was really wonderful. Their patio has a plant canopy and it was quiet and the service was better than most places. The juices we had (pink lady and minty lemonade) were wonderful. However the food, meh. I had the bombastic that said it came on sourdough (my favorite and something Iâve yet to find here) but it was like a multi grain bread with lot of nuts, the avocado tasted old and I kind you not, the tomatoes tasted like moth balls. My son had the cheesy crape that was pretty basic but tasty. I would try again and get something different but my dish was very poorly executed.
Update: returned with my family. My opinion of the food still stands. I had the swarma wrap, my daughter had the fruit salad crepe, my son had the cheese crepe, my husband had the monday special. None of it was that great. Chicken was dry, wrap was pretty bland, fruit crepe had apples and pineapples with a less than tasty sauce. Again, they nailed the juices and I LOVE the garden courtyard. I also really really appreciate that they had chill music playing at a background volume level (I donât know why so many places play really loud music to the point you canât even talk). Employees were great, food was slow to come out but the waiter told us immediately that the kitchen was backed up (although the place wasnât busyđ¤ˇââď¸) and apologized for the food not coming out all at once. So as much as the service was slow, I appreciated the waiter addressing it. If I was rating on the space and the juice 5 stars. Probably wonât be back for another try at...
Read moreI liked Theia for a number of reasons:
The customer service is great. All the attendants are so warm, very attentive, super helpful, people-oriented and very communicative. Ben and Friday were my attendants and they were excellent.
The setting is really cozy and comfy, both out in the garden and indoor.
And ooooo, their food is absolutely amazing. I had their tuna club sandwich with a soy cappuccino (the mere fact that they had plant-based milk option made my day cos that's hard to find here in Ghana for a pescatarian like myself). I also tried their crepe sushi rolls and they were heavenly. I know I'm going back there just for that.. Haha.
Their prices are quite reasonable too considering the great service they offer, the location and ambience and quality of food.
They've got books you could read while enjoying your meal. That's just amazing for book lovers.
The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 start is the mosquitoes there. I went there at lunch time and the mosquitoes still disturbed me. Haha...i think it's because of all the beautiful plants they have but they should sort that out soon and it would be the perfect place.
Regardless, I think Theia is one of the best coffee houses in town. Do check them...
Read moreWhat a disappointment! Finally had the opportunity of coming here for a late breakfast. I ordered poached eggs on sour dough bread with smashed avocado (prIce equivalent to USD10), together with a mango/orange juice (USD4). My husband ordered fish and chips (USD8) and the same juice. After 10mins the waiter informed us that there was no mango (in mango season), we were not pleased to have the whole "we don't have" experience. My food came with two tiny cherry tomatoes cut up, yellowing at the edges on a bed of tough lettuce. The poached eggs were well done, but sitting on a soggy slice of bread with very thinly spread and tasteless "smashed" avocado on it, no hollandaise sauce. My husband's dish was no better, the fish tasted old, the batter was dripping with oil, the "sauce tartar" was mayonnaise with so few gherkins cubes you could count them. Best thing was the chips. Good points: staff was friendly and espresso was made from good quality coffee. Ambience is potentially nice with leafy courtyard, but lots of people walking through all the time (staff, sports people) so rather than feel serene, it felt busy. So, safe to say won't be going back to be fleeced for low standard food in...
